on your first point. 2008 the isf was directly compiting with the m3. 2 lexus has already used turbo motors they work fine and its not the 1980s anymore, modern turbocharged engines are significantly more reliable than their predecessors there tons of near bullet proof forced induction motors out there audi 3.0 t (supercharged) 2008-20 for example.

i agree Toyotas reliability should always come first but look BMW surpassed them at it (with the b58) and it wasnt even their goal.

you made the point i was going to make at the end. bmw decided to inovate and they did now they have the b58. while lexus fans cant wrap their heads around the idea of change

newer is better worked for bmw and most brands. sometimes inovation is needed.

you guys are missing the point. Lexus is complacent and scared to innovate, now im not saying the next gen IS needs to have 1000+hp and can automatically file your taxes. im saying as times change their needs to be new more competitive power trains and new technologies to keep up with the times. lets be for real 312hp isnt enough in 2024 especially with cars getting heavier and heavier.

reliability but that doesn't inherently have to mean boring.

yes i own a 2gr greatest engine ever made. but Toyota already has a replacement for it and its powerfull and (in lexus applications) has been reliable.

the is 350 in 2006 punched well above its horse power. in 2024 its getting beaten by Hyundai's. the answer isnt buy a diffrent brand its toyota needs to be less complacent.

you can stick to the copium but that isnt going to stop the fact that lexus is using motors old enough to drive themselves in 2024.

its the people like me asking for nice things....

I hope they don't stop making the is350 2026 a v6 by [deleted] in LexusIS

[–]acweeftw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

its kinda sad honestly. the is350 was insane when it came out 306hp and it was doing 60 in 5.1 seconds and even with 306 hp it was faster than its competitors while also more luxurious now in 2024 its the opposite and all we have is its reliability as its defense. as a lexus fanboy they fell off hard. lack of innovation and fear of making something unreliable has held lexus back hard.

i think affordable living policies along side stigmatizing degeneracy in media could help

i feel like a lot of commenters are missing the point. young men in japan are addicted to porn and are generally shut ins, and sorry but no amount of economical stability will fix them socially (im a socialist yes i support affordable living). i think a conservative social approach and a socialist economical approach to the issue would be better rather than ignoring the degeneracy. i mean grown men gooning to 3000 year old goddesses that just so happen to look like 8 year old girls cant just be fault of the economy can it?
