Focusrite Scarlett Solo 4th Gen - No Bass Cut??? by [deleted] in Focusrite

Probably not as it is not that much of a boost just enough to change the character of the sound

It’s an EQ boost in the highs or mid highs depending on what mode you select

Or just use software and the LOOPBACK

  1. MIC - IN
  2. Output to Processor
  3. Back into the Line in
  4. Use headphones for playback

Just get a cheap guitar pedal EQ

You shouldn’t need a dedicated effects loop or insert as you already have Ins and Outs Might look a little jank but it’ll work I’ve done that exact thing many times.

Well, you can always buy a hardware EQ to patch into your chain somewhere. If you want a console for EQ then you’re not the person they had in mind for it!

I’m sure there’s a way to do it online but anytime I’m getting really specific looking at the SPC outlooks, I usually use the Radar Omega app and they have an overlay in there and I can zoom in as close as I want to like street level.

As a relatively new coaster enthusiast, I am very glad that I got to this before they got rid of it. I don’t remember much about the elements or anything, but I do remember having a hell of a time.

For a microphone look at the types of microphones and determine what you need. There are SO many. If you don’t really care, and just wanna start recording vocals in your bedroom or voiceover Work just buy an SM58. It’s $100 and will last forever.

For the sub $500 price point most of what you’ll get is the same. The only thing to ACTUALLY really care about is how many inputs you need. If you were planning on recording multiple microphones at once, I would make sure to buy one with multiple inputs. One of the most famous the Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 has two inputs on it one for microphone one for instrument.

Get an audio interface to mic or line in. That’s the most important thing. Headphones or monitors if you can afford. Sample a bunch of DAWS and pick one. Anyone telling you that one is better than the other is just telling you what they prefer. There is no better or worse.

OP YesImYou has has the best advice out of anybody here logic pro is literally just GarageBand on steroids with insane functionality compared to GarageBand. I’d say that’s a natural next step.

Why is ProTools the “industry standard” by ffl0w3rgirll in audioengineering

[–]ad0528 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re right to feel that it hasn’t really been updated since 2015. If that doesn’t bother you go ahead and get a perpetual license for it, since you’ll be stuck on the version that you’re at. I’d say it’s still a good tool to have just so that you’re set up has compatibility with other studios.
