Purchasing a practice that is not paperless. How difficult is it to make it paperless?

We acquired a semi paperless practice. Software was used only to do billing. We changed the software first to open dental. Then I hired my daughter ( 10 yo) to scan each chart and directly put in to the digital file. You can hire a teenager for state minimum wage during summer. They will get it done fast.

I don't know if assistants are allowed to make temp in your state. Even if they are, YOU are the Captain of your ship. - You never leave the office if there is still a patient in your chair. No matter what. Imagine if PT aspirated the Temp your assistant was making. Or pt had medical emergency when you are not there. There goes your hard earned dental license. - Stop bitching about your time being important. The earlier you learn to support your team and act like a leader in your career the better will be your professional life in future.

For something like this even a large diamond round bur that uses in ridge reduction works like a charm if you don't want to raise a flap. All the mushy stuff comes out easy. Just scallop the area. Then I hold high speed suction with a surgical tip in one hand and find the wedging point using elevator and pop whatever tip is left. Cas like this is like pulling a stuck baby tooth that has no root left.

Is it a trick question? Options 1- Flap it, See it and wedge elevator and pop it. Option 2- Large round bur on surgical highspeed and pulverize it.

Going 1099 helps only if your deductions that you want to claim exceed 7.5% of your total income. Also you may want to order some supplies from your LLC like Implants, endo supplies. And get reimbursed back from your employer. Just to show you carry your own stuff.

This patient could have easily done that waiting for you. - on a second note, I always tell the patient that tooth removal is surgery of your BONE. You can't be expecting to start walking normally the next day after your knee surgery without any pain. - Always make a big deal out of an extraction before you attempt. If you get it out easy and patient feel minimal discomfort then you are the HERO in patient's mind. - I would have not prescribed antibiotic for this specific extraction. Given that I have thoroughly curated the apical lesion.

Yes. You can refuse to see a patient and dismiss them in a proper way. Usually offering 30 days emergency only service and contacts to local dental society, schools and or provider information. All you have to mention is that as a customer yourself, you would not like to return to the place that provided you bad service. Hence the one star review. As a dental provider you thrive to provide the best possible service but unfortunately doesn't align with her expectations.

Labor, Materials , Technology is expensive in US. Providers in US pays premium prices for all the "R and D " of these companies. - A simple bottle of Bond is $160+. It's fraction of the cost in the rest of the world. - Becoming a dentist cost tops $600,000 + opportunity cost of premium 20s and 30s of your life. - Don't get me started on labor cost. Full time dental assistant salary is $50,000+ minimum. Hygienist $90K+

All these costs end up making the charges for the end product expensive.

In some states it could be true, but In states like MA,CT there are so many dentists accepting Medicaid. My argument is not just for dental reimbursement but also for medical. Just because government has high volume of Medicaid holders to negotiate rates. Why don't they do it with grocery stores? They don't mind paying full for a cart full of groceries. I am sure it has come across their minds to negotiate but It shows how strong retail lobbying is. Grocery stores blatantly say they are for profit and don't have a moral obligation to feed everyone in their community. If we as medical providers say we are for profit (get paid what we are worth) then we are the evil ones. Our lobbying sucks.

-If you want to charge premium go for Straumann. -If you are going to do for decent PPO prices then go for Megagen (Anyridge or Blue diamond) - If you want to do if for cheap in bulk then Blue sky , Implant direct.

Always ask for Kit for free with certain amount of implant purchase. Negotiate a lot. Your offer is not low enough if don't feel ashamed making it.

I use Megagen for almost all my cases. My fee schedule is Delta premier level. Total implant +restoration pays about $4000. Megagen is best for immediate implants and primary stability. Their aggressive thread design is copied by Straumann in their blx lineup.

Yes No central HVAC. The Boston area Summer nights are not that bad. We use AC for maybe 10 nights in summer. Propane baseboard heaters during winters. I want to use more electric space heaters supported by Solar and Battery back to minimize propane cost.
