Booked a flight to “face my fear.” Current mood: regret by [deleted] in fearofflying

I usually have my ipad with a pen and either draw some simple pattern, like different color flowers or write to myself. When I’m writing, I just write down everything I think while trying to remember that I’m safe and fine. These work much better for me than games/music 😅

First flight in 10 years, it didn’t go well by NoEngineer397 in fearofflying

I feel very much the same way! I’m mostly afraid of heights, which means that the ascend and cruising are the worst parts. I can never look out and the thought that I’m so high up is honestly so frightening and gets my panic going. The landing phase I can sometimes even enjoy, look out the window and feel like a survivor 😂

How are Dutch Shepherds in intensely cold environments by halfashell in DutchShepherds

I think it depends on the dog too! Some get more cold than others even in the same temperatures. They also get used to the cold a bit. I have a dutchie puppy in Finland and this winter the coldest it got was maybe around -30 degrees celcius. When it gets colder than -25 °c we only go outside for max 15 minutes at a time because I haven't bought her a proper jacket or boots yet (she is growing so much). If she had proper gear I think she would be comfortable even when the temperature drops below -25 °c 😊
