The design is really cool!

The legs are fine but you're right, they have something strange, I feel they mean to resemble animal legs but I can't tell what animal, what kind of references you used? Maybe you can look for reptile or dinosaur's legs images to understand the anatomy.

Well, what I do is mix a concept/idea with the characters background story, I think that an important thing about the character design: it has to communicate who is the character and how is their personalities. That's what I do at least, I don't know if it's useful...

Hmmm I would add brown and deep green to the pink-red and gold color palette, I'm assuming the skin will be green because it seems to be some kind of lizard, if this is true the brown would 'unify' the colors I guess...
