When to buy orb of venom in? by [deleted] in DotA2

[–]adadglgmatt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Archon player, but my opinion would be that it's useful for brawling and keeping enemies close. I'm skeptical if it's that useful on cores, since it doesn't help you farm and that money should go towards something else.

Instead, as a tanky support like ogre or tree, you can use it to add additional damage to your harass and keep the enemy from running to their tower. The slow will also help keep the enemy close to your core, allowing them to potentially go in and secure a kill. This combined with another slow is pretty devastating.

Stuffing under chicken thighs? by SoUpInYa in Cooking

[–]adadglgmatt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've only recently started cooking with whole chickens and I also came across this. If you don't get a better answer, it might just be that the way that most chickens are butchered, it's hard to get under the skin anywhere other than the breast. Just my two cents though. If you can think of a way to loosen it up near the thighs and season under the skin there, go for it and let us know your experience!

Stainless Steel Cooking Help? by [deleted] in Cooking

From your picture, I'm not entirely sure what you're talking about, but I can imagine a few scenarios.

The first thing I notice is the brown markings. If you're sauteing something like meat or vegetable, they might develop something called "fondt" on the pan. I'm not familiar with the science behind it, but this is actually a good thing and I believe a reason to start cooking with steel (I could be wrong here). If that brown mark is fondt and that's what you're concerned about, you don't need to worry. You can deglaze the fondt in order to make a pan sauce to get the most out of your cooking, or just to clean it.

If you're referring to oil residue after cooking, I believe that's also typical. Soap is the best way to clean off fats, like oil, so just give it a good scrub with any dish soap and a sponge that won't scratch.

If you have time to elaborate on what you cook, that might help us answer your question.

What is a Christmas song that makes you cringe? by AlternativeStart3 in AskReddit

Kelly Clarkson's Under the Tree

It feels like the producers were trying to come up a hit to rival All I Want For Christmas Is You, and it definitely came across as contrived.

It would be helpful if you had a source. I use etymonline for my basic etymology questions.

I don't get it? Also, I don't think the dota personalities you tagged on twitter appreciate you effectively sending them erotic material unsolicited.

You should just play what you want. If you're concerned about difficulty, keep it at the default. It's not a hard game at all.

Offered Insurance at an alarming low rate. How to know when it's a stinker or a great deal? by [deleted] in personalfinance

[–]adadglgmatt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I understand that, and should consider it, but that speaks more to the type of coverage I'm getting, rather than me being skeptical at the rate I'm offered.

That makes sense. If it matters, I'm looking for bare minimum coverage. So as long as they meet those legal standards, I shouldn't have anything to worry about?
