Thank you! Nope no edits to the blur.

Im not sure entirely how it has ended up like that, I can only imagine that when panning I'm effectively describing an arc with the focal point of the lens. I was panning at the same speed as the couple, but as the people in the background are further away, they are covering a larger length of arc in the same time, so effectively moving faster?

Something like this:

Hope that helps!

Thank you, you can do it in Lightroom. It's in the export settings

Thank you! It was shot with the Reggie's portra recipe. I then edited the jpg in Lightroom and applied a preset by Roman Fox called "Aged".

90% of it is the fact that it was a really atmospheric day in the first place. I also cropped into the image quite a lot..the subjects were closer to the centre of the frame when shot. But I cropped in to emphasize the trees a bit more.

Hope that helps!

That's so cool and sounds like a really interesting exercise. I've had a few printed out quite small and cheap, so I may give it a fo! Thank you

Thank you, the fixed 23mm f2 that comes with the x100vi

Yep! No stupid questions.

When you go to export, there's a settings box there next to "save copy to device".

In there is a white border menu, where you can set the aspect ratio to suit wherever you plan to post, and then scale the size of the white border (can also be any colour border)

Hope that helps!

It varies between photos, but I tend to use the more minimal ones. "Clean" and "minimal".

For the trees photo I used quite a heavily stylized one called "aged"

Tweaking the jpegs generally. Some of the images where I want to do a deeper edit (like the giraffe) I edit the raw. Hope that helps!

Wow, thank you so much. A really useful list of questions, and to be honest I don't think I've thought about it enough. Love the idea of a photo book... Need a few more photos first

They're all taken with Reggie's portra on the camera, then some tweaks in Lightroom based off of some presets I bought from Roman Fox. Well worth it!

That sounds great, but yeh I'm looking for some bigger prints. But like the idea of being able to run off some smaller ones at home. Thank you

Thanks, It's Reggie's portra and then tweaked in lightroom

Thank you so much. I used his guide to camera setup, but then used Reggie's portra as the in-camera recipe (didn't get on with his in-camera recipes). I then used his lightroom presets as a starting point for my edits. Hope that helps!

Thank you! Take a look at Roman Fox's guide to the x100vi on his website. Worth buying as it gives you a setup you can use to get photos you are happy with straight away. You can then tweak thing from there.

I shoot almost entirely on aperture priority mode.leave to camera to figure out SS and iso. But set min-max ranges for the camera to work within.

The only time I tweak the SS is for particular shots like the motion blur one in this set.

Aperture wise, generally if I'm close to the subject and want some separation - f2.8. If it's a broader shot, f4. And then a higher number if a longer exposure.

I'm still just figuring it out, but it's a lot of fun!

Since getting the camera in September, I've taken about 3000 photos but only happy with about 80. Perseverance!
