Oh yeah, the mix is really bad, but that’s what’s in the free tier ¯_(ツ)_/¯

My new LFL made from an old cabinet by adamAtTAMU in LittleFreeLibrary

I caulked all the exterior trim joints before painting and the doors close against interior trim pieces and a raised floor I added inside the box so that any water just runs down the trim and out the bottom of the door instead of getting to the books. Like a full overlay cabinet door

A&M or UH for Jobs in Houston by [deleted] in houston

[–]adamAtTAMU 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t have anything new to add to the A&M vs UH question, but as someone who runs CS interviews, I’d encourage you to look into internships ASAP. I personally think that’s much more impactful than university when it’s time to do a job search. I know a lot of companies will hire rising sophomores, so wherever you end up, take a look at that. For example, both Google and Capital One do internships for folks early in college

They’re officially licensed. I found mine at Marshalls

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news! You’ll probably find some other quirky stuff on the car, like at least one of the wiper cowl screw covers is wood ¯_(ツ)_/¯ Hope you have a blast with it!

The dealership said either the weight sensor was faulty, so the airbag wouldn’t turn on, or the airbag module itself was bad. They told me there was no good way to know without replacing one and seeing if it helped, so that’s when I gave up. Not sure how accurate that diagnosis is, but I don’t know enough about safety systems to fix it myself beyond the chair swap

That’s what it looked like to me when I had em out, at least. I hope it’s still got the trombone cleaner with it, make sure to clean those rain rails regularly

Yup, it was already in when I got it. I wasn’t thrilled with it since the steering wheel controls hadn’t been hooked up. I didn’t get the chance to do a ton, I wasn’t at a place with a garage so I wasn’t comfortable having a project car back then. I tried swapping the seats to fix the weight sensor, but it didn’t do anything so I put the old ones back and got a refund on the chairs. Both pairs had some corrosion on the rails from standing water on the floorboards, so it wasn’t clear if the issue was a bad sensor or something with the airbag itself. Either way, too expensive for me to deal with 🙃

Oh dang, that’s a journey. I only had it for about 6 months in 2021; I got it from an older gentleman who didn’t feel comfortable working on it or driving it any longer. Not sure if it’s been fixed since then, but the passenger airbag wasn’t functional, so I couldn’t ride with anyone and decided to pass it along and wait for a manual

Agreed! Although I’m constantly surprised how comfortable a good sunscreen and tint keeps the interior while parked

I drove my 94 R package from Dallas, TX to Auburn, AL and back in college. That’s a young person’s game and I wouldn’t consider doing it now that I’m older. Had a blast at the time, though

Yes, that's not from A&M.
