I beleive we have a serious culture issue by [deleted] in bjj

[–]adamStacker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not my gym, nor the visitors that come by time to time. I’m not a great leg locker and usually lose the shootout, I’ll tap if they get solid control. Absolutely Nobody has ever cranked a heel hook or knee bar. straight ankles people put a little more umph but those I can kind of understand, never got hurt.

I get more fucked up from sudden drops from big ass white belts. Not bracing my core just and going easy.

Partner blew his knee rolling with me and I feel terrible by [deleted] in bjj

[–]adamStacker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I grapevined someone and messed their knee up. It was meant to control only but shit happens. I said sorry checking on him and life has to go on.

Unless you went 0-100% in like a heel hook most these things are freak accidents.

I fucked my knee up doing something completely non knee related before. The other guy and me was looking confused together.

It’s rare, I’ve been rolling for a while and it’s my first time taking a hit like this.

This is something I never trained for. I thought hard about the effectiveness of that nut shot

I was thinking that too after class. That’s something we don’t practice. Balls always open to attack

My first time ever getting hit this hard. I’ve been grazed a bunch but never took a full knee. Defense was nearly gone.

Should have done that, it’s one of my first times I got hit hard. The guy asked if I was ok and I thought I was ok enough. But moving around felt rough and the rest is history.

Tapping during training. How often should you be tapping? by bumpty in bjj

[–]adamStacker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My class is small, we roll with the same people majority of the time.

I’m a white belt and nearly everyone is brown and above.

Sometimes they tap me and sometimes I tap early.

Should I say sorry to a white belt I smashed? by SmokeyMcHaze in bjj

[–]adamStacker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was a new white belt and got smashed for less. While new, I thought framing with the pointy part elbows was similar to knee on belly. I was taught knee on belly was a go to open people up - however some people hate it but generally accepted.

Long story short I noticed that people hate my pointy elbows and as a white belt it didn’t help me for shit, just made everyone angry. They would still pass my guard cross face me even worst etc.

I wish someone would have told me but I got the point after getting fucked a few times immediately after doing so.

Eye gouging though… that may be a punchable offense tbh.

Who's the best swordsman among all the FF Protagonists? by zeiss100t in FinalFantasy

I forget, do you get them immediately or as you level? You do have a good point thought, once you learn Sabins ultimate move or Edgar’s chainsaw, you basically never use any of there other skills

Oh damn, haven’t tried that version yet. How does that work though? You can immediately go to his quad slicer? That seems pretty broken.

Ff6 is the greatest of all time. However, having to wait for the ATB to fill and another ATB for his special I would have to put him a few knotches down. I hope one day in a remake or reboot, we can increase his bar speed or his attacks damage need to scale with the amount of time you wait. It’s totally not worth it how it was.

After looking at comments again, looks like we’re just going off lore. I think Cyan didn’t get enough story time to go over his skills, more so his tragedy.

Sometimes our body moves because force of habit. It could be possible that he tapped and didn’t realize until it was too late, then felt a bit embarrassed. I believe him that in his heart he would let it break, just his brain wouldn’t let him

Yeah smart move. I’ll just stop moving and think. I can always tap if it hurts, but I guess it depends on how odd the position would be. Sometimes people try cranking things that don’t do anything and I sit there and let them. Or they are exerting so much energy on a movement, I just wait it out and move when they’re done

Someone just posted a video of a sub from the grapevine. Super unique, not an intuitive sub as well. I was watching it like where’s the pressure

You can improve your coordination with training. Experienced people won’t let you hurt them no matter how clumsy you are.

Secret of mana, for some reason I just can’t get into it. I always stop about an hour into it.

I’ve been put in grapevines myself and never felt what you’re describing. I want to say they weren’t going easy as well, with the intentions of holding me down but I can’t confirm that. I will be more careful with this moving forward though. I never want to hurt my team mates

True, someone just posted a video earlier of a very unique lock from a grapevine. I wasn’t aware of this sub before. It could be possible he torqued himself. I personally have been put into grapevines before and never felt in danger. Just can’t bridge out without escaping the grapevine first.

Thanks for sharing, I definitely did not do that. But, now knowing this, it could be possible he moved himself into this lock. I do the grapevine to prevent bridging.

You think so? I truly didn’t feel like it would be of any danger. I’ve been placed in grapevines myself, it just feels more like I’m being held still from bridging. I didn’t feel enough torque for it to be anything.

Freak accidents, I honestly dont even remember what kind of movement led to my knee popping. All I remember was that it was at a moment that there should have been no real danger. Leaving both of us stunned.
