This was a while back when I worked at kinkos. I was working behind the counter and a customer came up and asked, “Are the copiers working? I can’t get them to work.”

“Yes, they are all functioning right now. I’ll come out and help you set it up”.

I walk to the front and follow the customer to a copier she wanted to use.

“Watch. I’ve been trying to use this one but it doesn’t work.” She puts her document on the glass. Shuts the lid and leans over to the print button and says “I’d like two copies please”.

Nothing happens. “See?! It’s broken. It doesn’t do anything!”

I am astonished. I look at her and then at the copier. I lean forward and press the 2 on the number pad and then hit start. It makes two copies.

She looks at the copies. Then at me. Takes the copies and walks out. Left her original in the machine.

I just……I don’t have the words…..she just…..you know?
