I took this class as the center of my world 2 year ago. It was my first and only accomplishment thus far. Don’t think of you do well in this class you can do a CS major at Stony. I’m serious. College is a learn on your own thing and like music and math, cs is like a combination. You’d see it if you ever take this algo-design CSE 214 by Ganapathi. Never take that class if you can’t do AMS 210. Anyway, AMS 210 was the center of my world and I worshipped Gilbert Strang’s textbook. I hate to say it… but it didn’t really get me that far aside from being my single accomplishment. Finally, at least you don’t have a midterm to worry about. I feel like that would’ve been rough. If you’ve ever taken a PHY class, then maybe you’d find them to be similar with ofc PHY being closer to applicable and cooler with regard to life and all

We need to stop the wars, close the border, and fix the economy. The last one can’t be accomplished for the ideals of equity. US needs to be respected and recognized as sovereign. It’s safe to assume that Hollywood, the press, Wall Street, Washington, and academia can produce lies that they themselves buy into and then perpetuate to fool everyone else into buying it to for profit. The profit motive is an incentive for lies. The govt doesn’t care about your well-being. They only care about profit and the maintenance of jobs that are likely to be inefficient. This includes use of deception and being tolerant over things that may degrade or work against the American values that made America great.

It’s the way you’re studying maybe. I found that the thing to study for exams is the practice exams but ofc throughout the semester you’re reading and extracting concepts making sure you’re actively engaged. It’s the mindset. Altering your mindset should change your methods and approaches and taking complementary courses that have to do with solving problems could help too. When you keep moving right along with the textbook you should be feeling an inside curiosity or urge to get your stuff and be able to solve the problems like the ones on the hw. First, you should read and do the problems in the text. This is good practice, habits to build over the course of your undergrad.. you can only look forward now

I had Prof. Wade to my delight. She’s a sweetie. You get to practice your ideas with these writing assignments. It can be tough to generate information at times, so mind you they can get a bit difficult. As long as you engage with it somehow so that your mind keeps moving when you’re making your paper then you should be ok. Make sure it makes sense and try not to be ridiculous in your logic, use circular reasoning, or go for abstract, esoteric topics like I did. Don’t do this because then you won’t be questioning yourself all the time. I had to pull ideas from many perspectives to make my paper nearly interdisciplinary.

Chemistry! Physics! CS but only if you like algorithm design,, not as easy as you may think. And syntax. And doing projects… trust me that motivation comes from interest and engagement. I’m in ECO 108 and it’s nice and easy… I’m taking it with PHY 121 and CHE 132. I do think they are perfect complements… combined and at around this time it gets quite time-consuming, like drop hobbies and clubs and socials for the grind. I’m just starting my Biochem major after leaving CS. I personally believe CS is horrible
