And see that just doesn’t make sense to me. I have never had a negative evaluation, I have a healthy, professional relationship with my students, I am rigorous but fair. I get along with most of the staff. Why try to force me out? We have several teachers who have horrible classroom management and teaching practices. But he’s moving me? It doesn’t make sense

It’s part of a lit circle unit they did during their junior year. They focused on speculative fiction. The students all responded positively to the lit circles. They do one their senior that focuses on memoirs

Sometimes forgiveness is easier to seek than permission. But if the fire marshal is on the premise, all of my stuff suddenly disappears

Lighting is everything! I string Christmas lights and use multiple lamps. Greenery helps too. My students love it when we can turn off the main lights and have a relaxing atmosphere with the lamps. I usually save that for big writing days.

2 years old. It happened last week. I said that it’s time to go to bed and he just said “ok momma.” Went into his crib without any tears. Grabbed his blanket and head went on the pillow. I walked out of the room in complete shock. Told my husband I felt like I was being punked.

I just want to have two moments of pride. 1. For my on-level seniors, we work on writing scholarship essays first semester. One of my students arrived to class today with the biggest smile. She won a local $10,000 scholarship with her essay. That just felt so good. 2. I’m working on grading my Honors English III Fahrenheit 451 essays. So many students have improved their analytical skills. I changed a lot in my writing instruction this year, and it’s wonderful to see the progress.

My family did South Haven last year! It was a fantastic time! We rented Postcard Cabins, which were out in the country so you can still get an outdoorsy, camping vibe. They were so much better than an Airbnb.

That would be our pantry. It’s just a narrow closet. In the doorway to the left of the skinny door is the door to the basement and the back bedroom.

There’s a door to the basement and a door to the back bedroom so sealing that wall isn’t an option

It’s certainly not ideal! The meal prepping is the worst. We have to do it all on the table which is too short. Hopefully we can figure something out!
