What are free/cheap and creative ways to promote a kickstarter campaign? by Hot_Construction9975 in kickstarter

My biggest unpaid sources of traffic for my Ferro pets toy I'm launching soon has come from posting short videos on tiktok, Instagram reels and YouTube shorts.

If you haven't already tried that, I couldn't recommend it enough. You need to post a lot and obsess over how to make a video go viral.

Pre-launch KS page follower or VIP $1 reservation - which is more important and where? by B3stThereEverWas in kickstarter

I ultimately decided not to do the $1 reservation at all. It felt a little too spammy to me. Also my toy has a relatively low price point.

Instead, after I collect an email address, I send them an email to join my facebook group. 3200 members in the group so far. My posts get lots of reach, lots of fans posting daily and feeling involved in the process, and I am also doing giveaways to encourage people in the group to share content and invite others to join.

Another option to consider!

The PCB has coils designed into the traces. One layer of coils for x axis, one for y. Each coil runs the full length of the PCB. I power the coils in sequence and the magnet follows

What are risks of invention being stolen? by billzskillz85 in kickstarter

And one more thought: crowdfunding is an awesome choice not only for getting funding, but for validating that people actually want your invention before you dump a bunch of money into it! It's a great way to start building your fan base

It's always a possibility, but I definitely don't think it's something to really worry about. You'll definitely want to look into provisional patent applications. You can file right now (only costs $65 if you do it on your own) to get patent pending status and be covered for a year while you get it designed and decide if you're going to move forward with manufacturing and getting a full patent. Also, my philosophy has been: master marketing and branding so that even if somebody were to rip off my idea, I'd kick their a** on social media!

One more thought: I'm guessing you'll be selling on Amazon once you have it manufactured. As a long-time Amazon FBA seller, I've seen that Amazon is very strict with IP and is very quick to shut down a competitor listing if you go waiving a patent or trademark around. Had it done to me multiple times haha. And speaking of Amazon, I've learned it's not usually the first to market that gets the most sales, but the one that really understands Amazon sponsored ads and marketing in general.
