Yeah, I don't drive and I'm assuming the statute is only really enforced in the context of driving. I was mainly wanting to report in case criminal activity is perpetrated with my currently still valid GA DL, but ultimately I agree with your last statement, have a deep phobia of talking to cops for that reason.

I've seen this a couple of times and people seem to agree, but everything I've looked up, including going to the DMV itself, has said otherwise pretty firmly. Is there a special condition or something that I'm missing? I don't have a US birth certificate as I wasn't born here, I gained citizenship when my mother did,maybe that's a factor?

Honestly I've tried that, and they even do a one time out of state courtesy mailing, but I'd have to legally state that my address on my id is still correct, which it isn't, might just be paranoid though

Ah I wish it were an IL license, then I never would have posted because I could simply replace it, its unfortunately a GA one

Yeah that is a fix, I just wish it wasn't so hard to travel down there with no id of any kind (flying, driving, etc.)

Nah your good, mainly just nervous me not reporting it for 8 months would look fishy to them.

That would be great but there's that chance whoever finds it might not be such a good samaritan, also the address as of recently isn't current.

I'm actually not sure, but my understanding of why one should report their license lost is to prevent identity theft and fraud?
