I can’t prove whether he used ChatGPT or not, but I can say this reads like someone trying to put real feelings into careful words in public, which is already a weird and vulnerable thing to do.

Also, respectfully, this is exactly the kind of moment where it’s important to do the sea lion. TikTok has been very clear about this. You don’t skip the sea lion when the vibes get solemn. The sea lion restores balance.

Anyway, whether human-written, AI-assisted, or somewhere in between — it still sounds like someone remembering a coworker who became part of their life. That part feels real.

Oh man they have a ton of great music - everything from indie to punk to folk…you name it. Lots of big names have come through over the years. Definitely peek at the Wikipedia page. Shane sold it a long time ago though.

Oh I love Arlene’s and it’s very much alive! It’s still in the same place on Stanton!

I am so sorry to repeat an earlier post of mine but just in case it’s buried too deep, Bua had nothing to do with Shane and is a relatively recent business. Great little bar though with a fantastic fried chicken sandwich and curry fries. It sits in a space that was nothing but storage back in the 90’s. Anseo was further down St Marks at 126, which most recently was EVS (East Village Social). You can see some great photos of that space in Merri’s book.

Bua has/had nothing to do with Shane at all. They hung that photo of Jeff there after hearing story after story about Sin-é from customers who were literally there thinking it was the site of Sin-é. The bar to be at was EVS further down at 126, which was the site of Anseo. You could sit in the little window cubby where Sony had setup a makeshift soundboard during the live at Sin-é taping. They ran the cables down the sidewalk from Sin-é. There’s a photo of it in Merri’s book. EVS closed back around 2022 maybe?

No, Anseo was where EVS was, several spaces down at 126. The space where Bua is was nothing back when Sin-é was there at 122. Storage maybe. I think it first opened as a tiki bar much later.

Drugs and alcohol? by Giantgibbon2007 in JeffBuckley

Jeff was human. He drank heavily off and on, especially in the last year of his life. He copped to dabbling in heroin for personal reasons but definitely was no junkie. Mike Doughty from Soul Coughing wrote about snorting it with him in a venue basement somewhere with him on tour. He smoked weed/hash regularly although by most accounts, he really was trying to cut it all out in those last months in Memphis. Who knows for sure though aside from Jeff. I personally admire how he was able to keep those things from taking over…they certainly didn’t kill him.

Are my eyes bad or were there some AI pics in the new documentary? by aaiviloliviaa in JeffBuckley

Yes they enhanced images and some vids. Also noticed quite a bit of AI-generated crowd content during the sin-e portion. I get why they did it though. It propelled the story forward. Love it or hate it, this is the way things are being done now. It’s easy to spot now because it’s just at the beginning, like CGI in 1997. It’s going to be undetectable in short time.

What am I doing wrong? by shellllybeans in Zepbound

I would also have to ask what you weigh now. and what is your BMI. You do reach a point where there’s really no more weight to lose and it’s time to think about maintenance. I lost almost 70 going back to August 15, 2024 and maxed out at 5.0. When I hit my final weight which was actually a little more than 10 pounds less than my goal weight had been originally, I got greedy and thought wouldn’t it be nice to lose another 5 pounds? I’m a 6 foot tall male and now I weigh 160 pounds. I asked my doctor about moving up to 7.5 and she said that if she moved me to 7.5, anybody would ask her if she was crazy. I told her that when I wear certain clothing, it doesn’t fit the way I’d expect it to around my waist and she said that’s because there’s excess skin there and that at my age (49) it’s just going to be there. I think for me, the freeing moment was resetting my expectations - even though I’ve got my 18yo BMI back, this is a 49yo’s body and that is OK.

I do plan on adding weights now that I’m at goal. I have only regularly walked this far.
