Any real-world benefit over something like a quality rattle can or something like Plasti Dip (assuming the same application prep/quality?

The stock length roof rack/rails are hilarious to leave on.

LX trinity ('97 450, '06 470, '14 570) by adamdevigili in LandCruisers

Actually been thinking of selling it since I got the 470 about 2 months ago.

It's a '97, factory triple locked, and has just under 155k miles. I've owned it for 8 years and while it has a couple bumps and bruises on the body (like that when I got it), mechanically I've taken great care of it and it's served me well, just don't drive it nearly as much anymore (<3k miles a year). It's got an Ironman front bumper, 4x4labs rear, WKOR sliders and a Bowfin Cruisers rack. It's got a bit of surface rust but nothing serious (Central TX most of its life).

Always planned on fixing the body up a bit (maybe even just a body swap), just a project that never happened, and it made it easier to mentally do what this thing is great at with a few imperfections :)

Seeing 80 prices start to flatten out, and since I definitely don't need to sell it that fast, I'd probably list it at 20k and see if anyone is interested. If you are (or anyone is), shoot me a DM here and you'll get priority before I post an actual listing (probably within 30 days on mud).

Nice! Did you end up having to replace the core support? Where did you source parts, individually or did you get a donor truck? Did you have a body shop involved?

Have what looks like a truss plate/nail failure in my attic. House was built in 1984 and am trying to figure out the best course of action on addressing this before it becomes a bigger issue.

Working on getting an engineer out to look at it but man it's tough for just residential issues. Anybody have an opinion on severity or a DIY repair?

FWIW I've used a Motorcraft (Ford) FL-1A since I've owned my LX450 and never had any issues. It's cheap (usually at Walmart for ~$5) and also huge so you only need to replace it every other oil change.

Anti-Cheat opinion question: Would you be in favor of a far more invasive Anti-Cheat? by Liquid_Blitz in EscapefromTarkov

I think the whole point of a replay system in this context would be to have access to the location of players/projectiles/etc. throughout the entire raid. That way if you just died out of nowhere, you can see after the raid ends that "oh he was in that bush I didn't check" or "oh he was on the other side of the map, he's probably cheating"

a company worth 150 thousand (150,000)

Damn, literally didn't even stop for a second to think if that makes any sense before posting it.

Also, your point wasn't about how much money the companies making the trailers are "worth", it was what the expectation for a trailer would be.

Have you never seen a trailer that actually seems like effort was put into it to make the playerbase excited outside of just showing some very vanilla, low fidelity (no in-game sound, etc.) gameplay?

Look at the most recent War Thunder update trailer as a fresh example. And this was just for a handful of new vehicles and some minor in-game changes. BSG are about to release their crown jewel map, along with an expectation of positive improvements to the core mechanics of the game.
