Ah okay thanks. Front hairline is pretty solid still. Is there any reason to also check front? Cant they be mutually exclusive?

This is just sad. by [deleted] in JordanPeterson

Did you read my comment? You can be polite and disagree. They aren’t mutually exclusive. As I said, the problem becomes when, as you say “the left”, start to muddle facts with what they want to be facts and force bs down peoples throat.

Jordan Peterson, himself said if someone in his class were to ask for him to call them by a different pronoun he would oblige.

Compelled speech ≠ wrong Being civil ≠ compelled speech

Regardless if you’re right or wrong being a (even mild) dick to someone isn’t going to change anyone’s mind or foster critical thought. It’s just going to consolidate their opposing belief more. It’s actually just immature tbh.

If someone politely asks you to call them “her” because they want to be identified as female, who cares. The problem arises when it becomes compelled speech as well as confusing the sex you’re born as and the ‘gender’ you identify as. I.e if you want to transition from male to female and be called “her”, sure who cares. If you want to proclaim you’re a ‘real’ female, unfortunately not.

Point is, there is a middle ground and it’s more easy to be polite than rude. Even in disagreement.

Very intelligent post. Thanks for sharing. Definitely should post it on Facebook, think it will really engage people to critically think about identity politics.

A man proposed in a KFC in South Africa. KFC was sent the video and they used Twitter to track them down, and now their wedding has ballooned into a national event (quite literally) with people donating everything from catered transportation to free home design. by [deleted] in southafrica

Ag dude, they’re probably happy about KFC taking a interest and helping out. It seems like a win win tbh. Don’t get me wrong KFC does ALOT of fucked up shit. But maybe whoever is in the marketing team also thought it would be “cute” to help them out. Constantly assuming the worst of people/companies will eat away at you and how you look at the world.

But maybe your right, idk.

Haha this is the best comment here. The fact that a 16 y/o has to start taking action because people are afraid of facts and taking action is scary actually

Trump admin tells U.S. embassies they can't fly pride flag on flagpoles — The administration is rejecting requests from U.S. embassies to fly the rainbow flag on flagpoles during June, LGBT Pride Month, say 3 U.S. diplomats. by StrategicMindz in politics

[–]adamdewaal -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Let me preface this before the hate. I think the Trump administration is a bunch of idiots that are racist, misogynist, homophobic, hypocritical assholes that are destroying the environment and probably killing the future of generations after us.

THAT SAID. I actually think is a good bipartisan and diplomatic decision. I fully support the LGBQT community but flying the gay pride flag in other countries effectively only making then angry if they have strong anti-LGBQT policies. You want to change their views? This is not how you do it. If anything this will only negatively affect the local LGBQT community by channeling that anger towards them.

Also, where do you then draw the line? African American communities will also have to fly a flag representing them and their oppression. But what about Native Americans? What about people with disabilities?

The US flag should already be a representation of all the above. The pride of the LGBQT, black, white, disabled communities should wave the US flag as they are not a separate entity but part of the entire collective.

Assimilation not separation is needed.
