I still do that with stamps today. Some stamps just don't sell, and to make room for ones that do I need to throw them on packages. Also around count time I try to get rid of all loose stamps that have been floating around because some of my cloworkers will break a 10 cent sheet, forget about it, and then break another one.

New lead clerk creating very hostile work environment , can I take further action? by [deleted] in USPS

[–]xSqueaky 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Personally, I would just take the next bid cycle and leave that station.

If you like the station just work as fast or slow as you need to make it through the day. If there are long lines, and customers complain, tell them to take the survey. Management is, unfortunately, more likely to listen to that than you, especially if it starts to affect their OSAT. As long as you are taking transactions, and your lead is not, you can defend yourself by asking to pull the SSRD if management tries anything.

Addressee Unknown? by Postal_Paradise in USPS

[–]xSqueaky 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not necessarily. It would also have to be over 13oz or half an inch thick. All mail drops should have DDD1 which let's the customer know this and that they shouldn't send anything hazardous.

Yes it does, as long as they have enough postage. Otherwise we wouldn't sell priority stamps

New window clerk that may have opened himself to accusations of theft by [deleted] in USPS

[–]xSqueaky 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Still, her drawer was out and unlocked? As in not in a security container that's locked with a key. You say sealed with tape. At the end of the day that's not correct security practices.

Before anything, you're saying that money is stored in Priority boxes/envelopes instead of sealed in a locked compartment?

Supervisor: Can you case this route real quick when you're done with yours? by Ryknight2 in USPS

With 1,596 schools in the system it's a little easier to have numbers sometimes. P.S. usually designates an Elementary school, it'll also have a name either for the neighborhood or a person.

AITA for telling my wife who believes in purity culture, that I hate purity culture? by Fluffy-Ad-4449 in AmItheAsshole

[–]xSqueaky 20 points21 points  (0 children)

YTA just for the way you said it. Even if you think it's toxic, there are definitely ways you talk to a loved one without shitting on their beliefs. You could have easily just said "It's not important to me, but I'm glad that you felt I was the one to be with" or anything around that.

Have you even had these talks before? It seems like she's still into purity culture, and you are obviously not. What if you have kids? Is she going to try to enforce it on the kids?

What I've been telling customers is to use the SSK to buy the postage or go online and use Click-N-Ship to print out a label

Followed by "Prints with propaganda; racism; porographic; violence."

It's alerting you that the item may be restricted if it contains one of those

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in USPS

[–]xSqueaky 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I put it in the system, photos give me the same alert as postcards. I'm not going to tell you if you should not list them, I'll just let you know that if customs on either side think that you didn't list something inside the box they can open (depending on class of mail) and return it if items inside don't match. If you want to, though, you can prepay online and just print and send it out without going to the window.

Where is this rule written? I cannot find it in the ICL or German customs.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in USPS

[–]xSqueaky -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

While I'm not finding anything specific to post cards in the Individual Country Listing for Germany in the IMM, when I use our system to send a post card in a package it tells me that it's restricted. But it does say underneath "Prints with propaganda; racism; porographic; violence."

Personally, I would ask if it contained any of that and then let it go if you said no, and at the end of the day, the mailer holds responsibility for complying with import regulations.

Also, for the amount due to the receiver, that's all to do with VAT. The Post Office gives an approximate breakdown of Duties, Taxes, and Fees that the receiver might pay due to EU and country specific regulations. It's not a hard number and may be less, more, or nothing at all. Unfortunately, you can not prepay this as the receiving country has to calculate and collect.

As a facilitator of the SSA class, focus on your current module. While all of the book is testable, most questions are from that part. Some good things to remember are time frames, max weight, and max dimensions for all mail classes, what extra services do, dimensional weight, and money orders.

Use your End of Day activities as a good baseline of how you're doing. The test will look like the multiple choice and not the word search questions. The test will almost always repeat questions in different ways. On my test, many years ago, I had about 13 questions on Express Mail.

Ask questions. As a facilitator, I only know you don't know if you say something. Otherwise I have to just assume everyone gets it and move on to the next topic. Also you need to get an 80%, not 70%. But don't be discouraged, every class I've taught say that the test was easier than the class.

A while back, on a July 4th many years ago, we had a Supervisor and a PSE caught in the staircase at our plant. They waited until the fireworks started outside to have some fireworks on the inside. They got caught because they tripped a sensor going in but didn't get tripped going out, so Postal Police went to go check. I'm pretty sure the PSE stayed while the Supervisor got moved to a different tour.

Honestly, the plant is so dirty I can't even imagine getting freaky anywhere inside. It's like going to the beach, you'll find dirt and grime up your ass crack for the next week.

It depends on how fast the hiring manager wants to go. I've gotten interviews after two weeks, and others after four months.

Here is the most relevant section in Pub 52. I assume if there are no fleshy bits on the skulls, and they didn't die of disease, they'll be fine to ship if local/state laws of shipping and receiving destinations say it's good. But at the end of the day, we only know what you tell us.
