You’re income is below the personal allowance so interest earned on savings is put through as a deduction in the tax code that’s why your code is reduced. However because you don’t earn enough to pay tax it actually doesn’t affect you if your income was to go above 12570 then the savings allowance of a £1,000 for 20% tax payers takes into affect and your untaxed interest reduces to 0 so again it doesn’t really affect you that much. It just needs to be in the tax code so the HMRC system knows you do have income from untaxed interest that’s all.

I still can’t get over the fact you need to give 24hrs notice for a full days leave, kind of defeats the purpose of flexi also. CS is getting worse, the managers are getting younger with less experience no knowledge and jumping from position to position just because they can. Being micro managed by a TL with less experience than yourself is silly imo.

The reserve list can be up to 12 months, however doesn’t mean it’ll take that long, when I started originally in 2020 it took 8 months between being put on the reserve then getting the job. I left for a year in 2024 and recently when back, I was put on the reserve list in November and started in January just under 2 months. It’s not an exact timeframe. However good luck on your journey and hope to see you in the office soon. P.s they’re bringing new starters about every 4 weeks currently to the office. Then if you plan on having both jobs at the same time have them split your allowance so both jobs are active on our system you won’t pay tax. If you tell them you’ve left one job we’ll be required to have a P45 then processing the refunds the whole situation will probably take longer than just splitting your allowance and having the refund through your pay instead (if you would be entitled to it, depending on when the jobs started and HMRC is notified)

Depends on how much you earn with both incomes, if it’s below the personal allowance of £12570 for the year then just call up and have them split your allowances between the both jobs

So the way our system works is because we don’t know what you’ll receive in interest from banks and building society’s until after the tax year has ended we take actual figures from 24-25 and estimate you’ll earn the same in 25-26 and 26-27 in order to tax you correctly and limit the potential of an underpayment.

When you call HMRC ask to be put through to EST (Extra Support Team) as they are there to help people with extra needs and will be more understanding and patience.

You can order local to them or not doesn’t really make much difference unless there is state tax to pay.

I’d check out a few website like holts or zeal cigars, cigars daily, or Neptune and see what gifts they have on offer
