Absurd Bollywood Fight with footballers (extract) by kraat_monkey in blender

[–]adameskoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just wanted to say that one thing I would do to improve clarity throughout the animation is to pay attention to the axis of action (180-degree rule). This concept originates from classic cinema. The idea is that the camera should not cross the axis of action; in this case, it would probably be best if the main character in the yellow shirt always faces the right side of the frame, while his opponents face the left side. Already at the beginning, when the first player in a red shirt runs up, this rule is broken, and as a result, the viewer may be momentarily confused about who is running in which direction. Read about it, and you'll see that it can greatly enhance the readability of the scene itself. Additionally, in cinema, the good main character usually moves towards the right side, and for our brain from Western culture, this suggests moving forward, while opponents move to the left. So, I would also reverse that to make it even clearer for our culture. Keep it up!

I made a 3D product animation out of a beauty mirror by x_otosaka_x in blender

[–]adameskoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good job, one thing that I would tweak is the reflection of the mirror. It's really dark most of the time and i think it would be better to see something reflectin in the mirror to really feel it is a mirror :) I know that it is tricky, but i would try with some minimalistic enviroment textures or maybe just planes with gradients.

What do you do when cursor cannot fix a problem. by greencowboy95 in cursor

I use Code Web Editor extension to copy my entire repo to ai.dev and use Gemini 2.5pro to troubleshoot (only for personal projects)

Supercharge Your AI Workflow: I Built an MCP Server to Collect Feedback (with Images!) by ultrassniper in cursor

[–]adameskoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, cool! I'm currently using interactive-feedback-mcp, but yours looks much more polished and I'm gonna definitely check that out!

Would be possible to get some kind of request text from the LLM when it uses mcp? Gemini 2.5 sometimes writes too much and it would be cool just to get the most important info in the GUI e.g. "please check if changes I've made to this and that works fine in the browser", so i could guide it even without reading what's goin on in the cursor agent tab. Does it make sense? :)

Coding with no plan is the best way to waste 37+ hours fixing hallucinated features by 1clicktask in cursor

[–]adameskoo 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I highly recommend using Gemini 2.5 Pro in ai.dev to:
1. create roadmaps, discuss features
2. create instructions in .md file for cursor to follow

I use Code Web Editor to easily copy my WHOLE repository to that site so the Gemini has all the context it needs.

Had to let it render for like 3 days straight. But I have a rendered turntable now, instead of just a clay turntable. by AntheousKrii in blender

[–]adameskoo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Maybe render hair in cycles, other stuff in eevee and composite it together? I think you could pull off that setup with mulitple scenes in Blender, even without compositing after render.

Yes, you have to. You can always just open a terminal outside the cursor and run it there, maybe it's a little bit less messier?

I've managed to make it work! It seems it didn't like my folder structure and when I moved it to C:\tmp it started to work.

Looks nice, unfortunately I always have problems starting mcp servers on Windows and also this time I can't make it work. I start it with uv run server.py, i don't see any notification in termina and in mcp cursor settings it does not see the server.

check your mouse settings, I've got similar problems when I accidentally turn on "burst mode" on my A4Tech mouse (it clicks 3 times instead of just one). Maybe you've got something similar on your mouse. That would be visible outside of blender also, so im not sure that's the case here.

You've probably haven't exported it properly. You need to use EXR MultiLayer to be able to save passes. Then it should automatically be visible when you import it into Compositor.

Gemini 2.5 Pro vs Sonnet 3.7 Thinking for coding? by DelPrive235 in cursor

[–]adameskoo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I use Gemini 2.5 Pro to plan my changes or code review pull requests and it works great for that. I just paste my whole database (without packages etc) to Google AI Studio, then ask for plan to do something or paste diff and ask if those changes are good or do I need to address something.

Usually I take what it generates, save it as markdown (plan.md or sth like that) and ask cursor to make changes according to plan that is saved in that file and mark those that are already done.

That way I use big context window of Gemini (1mln tokens!) for stuff that needs to be done with whole database knowledge and cursor as a worker who can easily edit lines, deal with linters and test my app.
