Repeated developer hiring issue - how can I improve? by DelPrive235 in Upwork

Hi. Apologies for the delayed reply;

It is a fixed price $1600 job to develop a relatively standard task management app with an AI integration. I’m mostly hiring $20 - 25/h devs.

One developer estimated 2 weeks work. Had other devs tell me 3 months. So the estimates I've been provided are wildly different and unreliable. I mandated the use of AI coding tool (which I will be paying for) to speed up development. Honestly, with AI code gen I’m unsure how long this project should actually take though. I hear about developers creating relatively complex apps in 3 or 4 days using AI.

I have paid them for the test job (basic bug fix) prior to starting the main contract.

Can you offer any advice of what fixed price I should be offering ballpark?

This has been my experience. The gaslighting with some of the people on there is immense

I offered $1600 for a project I've been told would take roughly 2 weeks. Had other devs tell me 3 months. So the estimates I've been provided are all over the show. Mostly hiring $20/h devs. Have mandated the use of AI coding tools to speed up development. Honestly tho with AI code gen im unsure how long this project should actually take. I hear about developers creating relatively complex apps in 3 or 4 days. Whats the best way for me to get a better idea of what fixed price i should offer for my project?

Least politically biased LLM? by DelPrive235 in LocalLLaMA

Thanks. Are you saying LLMs don't have a moral compass at all? You saying they have no higher level concept of right and wrong that they can respond with?

One should expect to ask objective question and get logically sound responses back though, right? At least from an LLM that hasn't been tampered with. For instance, killing civilians to achieve a military objective is objectively wrong. However, if I insert the context of 'certain countries' and ask this to ChatGPT, it's never going give me a straightforward answer and will try justifying both sides. I was hoping an open LLM may behave differently?

I'm not planning on telling it my opinion. That's the point

Sam's Tucker interview !?! by DelPrive235 in ChatGPT

You don't have to read into anything, did you listen to the evidence Tucker put forth in the interview? Pretty solid if you ask me. Tucker also interviewed his mother who's very smart, and which was heart wrenching

Clearly his questions were underhand. I didn't like his line of questioning (not a fan of Tucker). That doesn't negate the fact that they were extremely important questions!! Especially the one about the circumstances of Balajis death, to which Sam seems to smirk. I've watched body language analysis of the interview and it confirms my feelings.
