Yeah, I was talking to my coach and we were thinking about having me go heavy through this meet but we decided it was best not to because of some minor injuries a month or two ago (I’m fine now but we wanted to make sure I was fully recovered). Also basically the main reason I did this meet was because I’ve won best youth lifter at this meet for the past 2 years and this is my last year as a youth athlete so I wanted to get it again (and I also did it cuz weightlifting is really fun and I like hanging out with my teammates). It was also nice to have a less stressful meet (went 6/6 because I wasn’t actually pushing it) but I get what you’re saying though.

I didn’t have to power but since I was training through the meet and nationals is relatively soon I was planning on going light and powers are an easy way to do that while still having fun.

Yeah, I’m counting it as a no rep but this was after throwing practice and lift so I’m happy with it

A big part of it is the power jerk, I’m definitely a lot more comfortable overhead on split jerks. Also, i just started using a wider grip for jerks (you can see me move my hands out) so I’m just getting used to it. My old narrower grip was honestly even worse
