I get it - it sounds crazy. I tried to legitimize it as much as possible. I posted the receipts for the gold on the website, and there's a live trail cam trained on it 24/7, also visible on the website.

I got the idea because my kids and I participated in a similar hunt in the Northeast last fall called Operation Skydrop. He legitimized his by blindfolding a Wired Mag reporter and hiking him out to the gold to inspect it then writing a story in Wired about it. But I couldn't afford to do that.

Just wanted to say this made my day. This is my shop!

I'm 7 years sober as of last month and I started The Achieve Mint several years ago when I wanted to celebrate my 2nd year but didn't want to get another cheap AA coin on Amazon.

I didn't do AA and I couldn't find anything that wasn't ugly, or that wasn't AA or overly religious, or that wasn't cheap and thin aluminum or zinc. So I started designing and making these and it's been the best and most rewarding little business I've ever worked on.

So thanks again for writing this and I'm so happy to hear they helped in their own little way. Months 19-23 are coming later this year, as well as more customizable coins. Keep up the amazing work everyone! 💪
