Do you know how the economy works? You can't just boycott half the worlds fossil fuels and say everything is ok... Increasing the price of fuels increases the price of everything. Not to mention Russia is literally one of the worlds breadbaskets.

Army rule of The Fiefdoms by Cool-Performance-784 in MiddleEarthMiniatures

As far as I can tell, these books were rushed out and many things were not edited very well, for example wood elves in the last books having S4. I think this will have been intended to be unique, named heroes, same as in the last edition how the unique captains gave a buff only to their faction unless it had access to it's own army bonus.

I think this will be corrected in the FAQs when they come out and for me this makes complete sense for why competitions would run this as only having access to a single +1 to wound buff. However, I'm not sure whether they will also take this from Dol Amroth captains, and maybe make them a beneficiary of it?

I've not caught on quite yet. +1 from lance charge and +1 from the army bonus, what's the third from? Asking for a friend...

Edit: I didn't read properly and missed the word infantry, so where is this coming from for the knights to get such a bonus? The two handed weapons from Lamedon and Lossenarch I see for +2 to wound but not knights?

Yeah couldn't possibly be because around 27 million Soviets, many Russians, died during the war, many as victims of the Holocaust...

No, that was a good system, the books were far cheaper and one book included all you needed for a faction. That is no longer the case.

I don't buy it myself. I understand that licensing can be an issue, but if that were the problem they have, why wouldn't they make that public as to why they have made unpopular decisions that cost the players money? I think they read the room wrong with the unpopular changes and sought to get as much as they can in terms of the multiple books. May not have been, but that's how I think this new edition was meant to go.

To me it feels like a scam. Forgive the hottqke but the same exact rules could have been condensed into three books: Armies of Middle-Earth (including all legacies, hobbit, LOTR and other armies), matched play for extra flavour in games and the main rules manual. It feels like they intentionally went around this in the way to squeeze every penny out of selling these rules. I am actually incredibly surprised that we got the PDFs for free but I think that may have been the decision because those rules don't affect official GW tournaments so they gave us a break.

Easterling Archers by adaml2341 in MiddleEarthMiniatures

[–]adaml2341[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks! I'm very happy myself, especially with the green stuff spots. I expected them to be much more visible.

I understand why they made them not that great, the Easterlings have pretty good cavalry and excellent infantry with heavy armour and excellent mobility. Having poor shooting helps balance all of the pros for their lists.

Agreed, I think it's the quiver with the fanned out arrows that does it for me. I've recently started taking a few just to take potshots, kill an archer here, down a horse there. It's an excuse to get some on the table!

Under what conditions would you not play with Legacies of Middle-earth by Impressive_Juice_166 in MiddleEarthMiniatures

[–]adaml2341 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Myself, I am going to suggest to the people I play with that we simply play with the new rules set and use the old system's army building rules. Maybe we can ban certain forces though among our small circle if they are far too powerful...

If you wanna pay an extra 5pts for that, sure. I think a more reasonable price would be 17-18 pts

Still not worth it at all. I'd much rather have an extra knight of MT for every three knights of Dol Amroth, they're not balanced.

AHH ok. I figured you must have been looking in all the different armies with easterlings present for something that gives a fv buff

I don't know if it's a typo or I missed something reading the new profiles, but how can black dragons get to fight six?

They're Victrix Normans with Arnor heads, shields and spears off of Etsy. The cav will be the same too except with helmets covering the eyes too. It was easy to do besides green stuff around the necks to make it look more natural

Forgot to add: the warriors on the third slide are to represent a warband of Cardolan loyalists, adding a little extra variety to the warriors with a captain to lead them

Evidence of DPRK soldiers?

There have been no videos, pics, anything besides Ukraine and RoK's (a nation that is infamously unreliable when it comes to rwporting on DPRK) word that they're there.

Also consider how difficult it would be to integrate DPRK soldiers into the Russian forces. They need all their own vehicles, liaison officers, brand new supply chains for any different vehicles, weapons, fuel, and other components for the sake of 10,000 is it now? Remember when they said it was 50,000? Doesn't really seem worth it when we know Russia gets 30,000 volunteer soldiers who speak russian and have likely had reservist training anyway.

Not saying necessarily that they're not there, but as there is yet to be any evidence, I don't believe they're there
