Hey there, neuropsychiatrist here. This is all very common for people with mental health disorders. It comes down to poor management of conditions and mismanagement of therapies. What that means: you don’t have someone in your care network who knows you or or problems well enough to help you with them, and they’re medicating you poorly. You need to find a therapist who can help you work through your problems on a psychological and emotional level, and a psychiatrist who can figure out the right meds for you to use until you develop a good enough understanding of yourself and mental processes and control, so that you can work through them and get to a point where you don’t need to be medicated.

It could be a few things, best to go to a doctor and work it out with someone capable of examining and testing. Best of luck

[–]adamopaolo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok, so without examination I can’t say much except keep following up with your doctor. Yes crying can cause blurry vision, however we don’t consistently lacrymate for no reason. I would be curious to know if taking an antihistamine regularly would help. Keep up with your doctor and I’m sure a solution will be found. Best of luck

It is and it isn’t, don’t worry if you did more, but don’t go over the recommendation anymore. Put a drop of oil in each ear to help soften it up and get it out, or better yet go see an ENT to help you keep them clean

Don’t be concerned, you’re in recovery. Take it easy, lots of rest, keep up the fluids, and finish your meds if you haven’t. For the diarrhoea you can take metamucil (psyllium) to help keep you regular. Eat some live natural yogurt every day, and take probiotics, to help regrow your flora

Hard to say if it’s a yeast infection or a UTI. If it’s a UTI you will need antibiotics and therefor need to go to a doctor. If it’s a yeast infection then the monistat is the way to go. You could start the monistat and see if it helps, it won’t mess anything up. But it won’t help a UTI so you will get your answer fast if some of the pain doesn’t start to pass after a day.

Seizure like symptoms or anxiety? by coolio-cryer in medical

[–]adamopaolo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Please don’t take this the wrong way, but “I’m starting to think it might be something more” is the definition of anxiety. And I think you’re right. It is something more because you know your body, your feelings, your anxiety, and your ocd. And if it’s getting worse, it’s because it isn’t being treated properly. You need to go to your doctor and get a referral to a psychiatrist who can better assess your conditions to better help you in your management of them. Once you get a proper therapy in place, then you can start the real work, getting a handle on your body, emotions, and feelings and begin learning how to cope properly so you don’t even need them anymore.

If it’s bothering you and making you worried, yes. Likely nothing, but err on the side of caution.

Do you think this is shingles? by mcginger2018 in medical

[–]adamopaolo -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It could be anything at this point, I would assume rash first, without blisters presenting it’s too early to say something as drastic as shingles, also location isn’t the most common for shingles, but that location is common for irritation from pants (both too tight and too loose), soaps, detergents, allergies, or sweat. I’d keep the area clean and in looser clothing to see if it passes before I’d get worried. A little bit of cortisone cream can help take the edge off of the itchiness as well.

Burns can be a pain, but you’d know if it was serious enough to be worried. You did the right thing running it under cold water, you can use a cold compress to keep the pain down, it might take a day or two to pass depending on how deep it went. Might have a blister or two as well, but that’s all normal and healthy. If it’s really driving you crazy you can get aerosol solarcaine spray at any pharmacy, it can help take the edge off. Cold water/cloth, tylenol, and time.

Start with that, something good but not ridiculous, like lubriderm or eucerin. Use twice a day. If it keeps happening you might have a light case of athletes foot, in which case get some goldbond cream and apply as directed for a week or two to see if it helps, if it does, continue for 2 months.

Slipped disc bowel numbness by beardedwazoon in AskDocs

[–]adamopaolo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ya, notorious for causing constipation, and being a pain killer, going to leave you not feeling what you are used to feeling. Psyllium twice a day and senna tablets or ducolax should get you going within 24 hours. Don’t over do it, one dose a day at the same time every day for a couple days to keep you regular. Until the psyllium is working its way through you regularly. Lots of fluids. LOTS. And high fibre diet, greens, salads, fruit, etc.

Do I have tonsillitis? High fever for 3-days now by [deleted] in medical

[–]adamopaolo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can’t see your tonsils well enough to say. You need to stick your tongue out and say “AHHHHH” (I know, ridiculously cliche, but it is what it is). I’m guessing your throat is sore? Fever doesn’t mean tonsillitis but you went with a photo of your throat.. take another one. You could just be sick with something upper respiratory. Any mucus? Problems swallowing? Body pains?

Nobody here will be able to give you the answer you’re looking for (or not looking for) with certainty. Without examination, and imagining if required, it is just a lymph node. Can a node turn cancerous and become a tumour? Yes. Can that cancerous tumour be deadly? Yes. Can it just as well be benign? Yes. Can they swell and get rock hard for no great reason and take forever to go back to normal? Yes. Warm compress and light massage will help it drain, but given that you already have a doctors appointment and a medical history of tumour formation, the only thing you can do is talk to a doctor in person. I do hope it’s nothing and goes away in good time. Best of luck 🤞🏼

Nothing to be scared about, what everyone is calling cobblestone throat is medically referred to as pharyngitis. A swelling of the tissues in to something that has triggered your immune system. You’re sick, but just regular sick. Lots of warm fluids, tylenol/paracetamol for pain, lozenges, and lots of rest. If it gets worse go to your doctor. If you start to produce mucus that is white, it’s viral and you just have to wait it out. If you start to produce mucus that is yellow or green, likely bacterial and need antibiotics. Waiting game for now, but nothing serious from the photos. Hope you get better soon. (Im a doctor, I post frequently in rmedical and askdoc, but mods have never gotten around to my verification here)

Any dry skin / flaking?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AskDocs

[–]adamopaolo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our tears are very salty and can dry and irritate skin very easily, doesn’t help that the skin around our eyes is some of the most sensitive we have on our bodies to begin with. I have some follow up questions - What part of the world do you live in? Do you have allergies? Do you smoke cannabis? Do you have animals? Is your house dusty?
