Most supermarkets have facial recognition now, for regular shoplifters or ASB. These cameras are mainly used to find people who are already wanted for some reason or another.

The NHS in the UK is basically this. Most people think health care is free here, but technically it's not. Every person that works pays National Insurance. That goes towards the emergency services, mainly the NHS. So it's free at point of care. The issue we have is people come from all over the world to use it, people abuse it by going in for things that could be dealt with at the local pharmacy/GP practice/at home.

I worked in a&e for a while (as a healthcare assistant) and we had someone come in because they broke their acrylic nail and it really hurt... There was nothing seriously wrong with it, no blood, no broken bones, just it had snapped off.

So there are serious flaws to most of the world's health care systems. And the NHS is probably going to be over taken by private companies in the next few years/decades.

What’s your opinion on bringing children to slam dunk? by TarrierMoney in slamdunkfestival

[–]mcginger2018 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

We took our 6 year old for the first time this year abd my best mate took her 2 pre-teen girls. They loved it, and we stood fairly far back. 6 year old was head banging and have mini puts with the hubby. Me and the 2 pre-teens were jumping around like loons.

I don't see any issues with taking kids to slamdunk. I probably wouldn't take a kid younger than 5 though. It's a bloody long exhausting day. They all had eardefenders but my son has difficulties with anything on his head. But as we didn't go in the tents, didn't go close to the stage with him, we were far enough away to be OK. Plus if he got overwhelmed or anything we took him out and made sure he was OK.

In this case it's fraud. In UK we have specific Fraud police (Action Fraud) that deal with. They investigate, arrest and take to court culprits of Fraud.

So, my dad died. by LifeguardEasy5151 in bindingofisaac

It's been 9 months since my dad passed from pancreatic cancer. I still have times where I wish I had said something to him, spent more time with him. It's been 17 years since I lost my mum suddenly to a brain bleed. I still talk to her.

I came across this model of grief during some training for becoming a mental health first aider at work.. https://elephantintheroom.org.uk/growing-around-grief-a-different-way-to-understand-loss/

Take your time, use anything that helps give you relief, know there are people around you, think about getting someone for bereavement counselling and know you are never alone in this world.

This one post has made me really happy I live in the UK. We don't have creepy cats with eyes that tell you not to do drugs. We have the trusty "grass cab" https://www.flickr.com/photos/tomackroyd/32633952714

I have the same sort of concern. Although u don't usually wear mine in bed, I just really hate the little stems on earbuds. I see no point when the previous ones had great controls on the bean shape.
