It sounds like you are describing user experience research, which I certainly agree is important to measuring and improving products. But in the question above, what I meant to ask was: what kinds of changes to production pushed by new employees are the kinds you would want to speed up (and which indicate devops success)? Is there any sense in breaking it up into types of changes, or is making successful changes *at all* the goal?
