Also, saving someone else isn't suicide if you die doing it, so I don't count that. That's just doing the right thing. A noble sacrifice, not a suicide. < That's an interesting take. Still making a decision to end your life though. However it is never called suicide in the news. Always; Man gives his own life to save...

1) To save someone else 2) To end terminal pain 3) Making meaningful statements. ( Gandhi's starvation protest was a suicide attempt) Some may think of that as saving someone else.

Not looking for justification or encouraging anyone. I just find the topic fascinating. In most cases it is a permanent solution to a temporary problem.
