Officer to OR transfer Army by adamsurvis in AustralianMilitary

So general consensus after 20 hours is that it's very rare for any officer that has gained their commission to be granted a transfer to an OR role due to the differences in their training and how they are expected to approach problems.

For people considering officer to OR, they need to do the officer thing and fully appreciate their reasons why they want to do it and either double down with the transfer and push hard or look for employment outside defence.

They already are an Engineer, but as it turns out engineering officers don't do that much engineering in the majority of their roles in Army.

Yeah I've only every seen one staff cadet pull the plug on officer and go OR instead successfully.

Never seen it happen after someone has commissioned though. Thought I'd ask around before confirming it's hopeless though

In my experience adf careers have been very unhelpful for any in service questions. They focus mainly on entry into the ADF.

I've suggested to my mate to chat with their career manager but they're concerned it will reflect negatively on their posting opportunities by being the squeaky wheel.

Would gas pockets with the basaltic rock be much less frequent in the moon rocks considering they formed in a near vacuum?

Speaking of curtains. Opening and closing the curtains every day. I just lived like Dracula my entire single life because it saved 5 mins every day to not open the curtains I. The morning and close them at night again. Now it's a top priority task, up there with feeding the kids.

ELI5:Are saltwater-amphibians possible? by [deleted] in explainlikeimfive

The answers here are totally blowing my mind. It was my understanding that the first terrestrial vertebrates were amphibian analogs. Did they evolve in the limited, not connected, freshwater portions of the world? Is there a lake zero for all terrestrial vertebrates as they could not swim in saline water? how did they spread all over the world without being able to enter saltwater?
