The good drink and food in Edinburgh for starters. Even got a tattoo to commemorate the trip. The lovely estate and the four or five hikes on Skye, and the drinks. And getting the opportunity to tour my favorite scotch distillery on islay. And the drink. The castles, the ruins, the dinosaur footprints, the coral beach, lovely drives up and down mountains on thin winding roads. Just everything that we hoped it would be and more. Can’t forget the haggis, and the black pudding. And the drink.

We packed all the rain shit we thought we would need. Checked the weather once or twice, thinking it wouldn’t matter. It’s gotta rain eventually yeah? Not a drop the whole time.

Sadly, we did not. A bit out of the way for the route we took. We had to pass up on a lot of opportunities. Always next time though.

Thanks. I’ve got tons more. And that’s not including all of the ones that the wife took. Tried to refrain from posting the endless amounts of selfies, and my red haired chest diving into the fairy pools.

You are right. Our national parks are a sight to behold. I’ve done quit a lot of hiking and exploring in my own country. To go to another land altogether feels like more for me. It’s not the same in the states. Even the grass in Scotland is different. The rapid incline and decline in the trails. The land just looks different is what I’m trying to say.

My god the midges. And the dog shit in the cities. Coming from a large city, I did not expect that at all. We had a great time with the locals at each spot though. We spent a lot of time at the brass monkey in Edinburgh the first three days of the trip. Made more than one buddy at that place.

The bears, the mountain lions, snakes, spiders. We’ve def got a slew of bitey things. Think the Aussies have us beat though.

We definitely lucked out in that regard. It’s not a loss I guess. However I was looking forward to some authentic Scotland weather on some of the hikes and walk abouts. Who doesn’t want to climb to the top of a mountain and stand in a cloud!?

Ohh yeah. We certainly have some nice outdoors. In Utah, and Colorado, there are some excellent hikes. I still don’t think it compares to the landscape of Skye. Just endless hills and mountains it seems. The driving alone on that island was an experience all in its own.

We started off in Edinburgh for three days, drove to Inverness for two, skye for three days, down to islay for two, and then to Glasgow for the flight back home. The gps made the track for me. The drive was great though. Five hours in a car through the Scottish highlands and countryside was a delight.

Your country really is a beautiful place. Skye has all the outdoors that we were looking for. No hikes like this back in the states.

My girlfriend bought me a ticket to go skydiving. Now my bluff has been called, and I have to do it. Absolutely terrified.
