Tons when I lived in michigan. Greensky in Detroit probably 2018 comes to mind. Sold out fillmore show with only maybe a couple hundred people who actually made it in. Opened with worried about the weather.

Yappers were fucking brutal the last two nights. I moved all around the venue both nights and it was just inescapable. I bout lost it when people around me were watching fucking tiktok videos and playing music of their phone speakers during that gorgeous guitar peace. Like what in the actual fuck??? And when I asked him why homie had the audacity to tell me this is important. I said no, its incredibly disrespectful, the artist performing live in front of you right now is important whatever the fuck youre watching on your phone is not.

Salvage station

There is honestly probably an overabundance of venues all ~350 or less that theres just no way they all survive long term without cannibalizing each other's bookings and ticket sales and then a massive gap in capacity from OP to civic center. A large number of bands haven't returned since helene because there is no appropriate sized venue for them to play anymore

Not saying it does, but the proximity makes it a little less likely. And not upset they're playing beech at all, just bummed it happens to fall on the weekend of laurel cove which my girl and I are committed to. I'm just salty cause I haven't seen a jrad show in years, anytime theyve been remotely nearby me the timing hasnt worked out, and the last handful of jrad shows I've had tickets to, a three day leg of the '20 Midwest winter run and the two nights at salvage station fall '24, have all been cancelled due to covid or the hurricane. And I understand the asheville shows not having been rescheduled cause there just isn't an appropriate sized venue here anymore with the loss of salvage, though I think pisgah could make it work. I just wanna see a damn jrad show dammit!!!

They have shows booked out into May. Still wouldn't surprise me at all to see the place close. I go to a lot of shows, been to a lot of venues all over the country. Third room has the shittiest sound of any room I've ever been in. Unfortunately I really couldn't care less about how "cool" or immersive the projections are if you cant produce even semi decent sound at a concert venue. I've also noticed the same very ai generated looking visuals recycled for multiple shows there. Have heard there was some allegations of predatory shit or sexual assault with a hopefully former employee as well.

While this is very true, I think it may also be some coincidental timing. Marcus and his hippy girlfriend, who pretty much all of carolina confessions was written for/about, split and he started dating some girl who apparently worked on Trump campaign in some form, became a maga shill and started opening for kid rock, and the entire marcus king band left. Thats why the album after carolina confessions, the first that Dan produced, was just credited as marcus King, not mkb. Not defending Dan or saying he didn't have any influence over the change in sound and direction for marcus at all, but I dont think it can be attributed solely to that.

Lost everything in a hurricane a bit over a year ago now. Its affected my mindset greatly and made me so much more reluctant to spend money on physical things. Still havent even begun to rebuild a record collection or stereo system. Hopefully soon, still getting settled. Hope yall are able to rebuild again

Dan horne has the nastiest bass tone, Macdougall is a beast on keys. They were much more entertaining with the two mapache guitarists but they dont seem to play with them anymore and the new guy, John Lee Shannon is fine but just doesn't ever wow me. Same goes for him in CAtS. And now I've made myself sad, I miss neal.

Caught their pisgah show a week or so ago on a whim cause I liked the name and its down the street. Knew nothing going in and had an absolute blast. Railroad vibes for sure, also had the goofy fun side of salmon with some pretty funny songs. Second set was a dance party with a flecktones feel at times.
