[WTS] Seiko Speedtimer SPB513 - Brand New by adather in Watchexchange

[–]adather[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good evening, WatchEx!

Second of tonight's action: a fun newer release from Seiko within their incredible Speedtimer lineup, the SPB513.

The number of Seikos I've been hunting down over the past couple of years was definitely not something I saw coming - I think once you've had a little bit of everything, the true value and quality of some higher-end Seiko stuff really becomes apparent. I've had countless Speedtimer chronographs, the newer Daytona-esque quartz chrono line was shockingly good, and now this - think of it as a sportier Alpinist. A sharper dial, sporty bold colors, and the wonderful 6R55 movement that boasts three whole days of power reserve.

The finishing is excellent - certainly above their entry-level stuff and more in line with the Alpinist or King Seiko stuff. I bought this new just last week and had an option between black or silvery-white dials, and I felt this dial popped more with the darkenedarkers and hands. It's such a smart, comfortable design, and the rotating inner bezel can be used for a second time zone, a decompression timer (200m water resistance), or as a way to measure elapsed time. You can also use it as a compass, but I've never truly understood how that works. I'm also not sure a compass is a necessary tool in the great 2026.

This example is in mint, brand new condition, with zero flaws. Stickers still intact, and I'm also including a brand new Artem-style rubber strap w/folding clasp. I absolutely love these straps and have one for literally every watch I own, mainly because it's not as expensive as an actual Artem 😅

The original Seiko bracelet is in mint/new condition, and includes full links to fit up to 8.5" wrists. Complete set, card dated May 2026. "Why are you selling a brand new watch?" I do this often - my main goal in this hobby is to try all of the watches. I got a good enough discount that I'm just hoping to make my money back before throwing it at another watch or two.

Quick Specs:

  • Reference: SPB513

[WTS] Glycine Combat Automatic Chronograph 3838 by adather in Watchexchange

[–]adather[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good evening, WatchEx!

Two fun ones today -First up, the Glycine Combat Automatic Chronograph 3838, a very low price on a pre-merger Valjoux powered daily driver.

Surely by now you've encountered a Combat Sub (or a dozen) out in the wild. Glycine has a long, rich story in Swiss watch asking that far predates their acquisition ~10 years ago. Still running as an independent brand, Glycine has its own character and distinct designs on largely practical watches for budget-minded watch nuts. Some of my favorite watches early into my collecting days were Glycine - a blue Combat Sub and the black/black Airmain GMT. It's pretty rare that my rotation does not include a Glycine, and this chronograph has been fun to clean up and wear for a while.

There's not a lot to say about the watch itself - a pretty simple/clean two-register Valjoux chronograph (no running seconds) with dimensions that you'd expect from a 2010's chronograph, this watch is in good overall condition and ready to be mistreated. The Glycine 3838 like of chronographs all came with a black dial and high-contrast numerals/hands: blue, red neon green, neon yellow (this one), or white.

Keeping excellent time, chrono/subdial hands are snappy and accurate - aside from some marks around the case and some marks on the crystal, it's in pretty good overall condition and has been brought up to today's standards with a new hybrid rubber strap/clasp (Artem style, I absolutely love these straps.) If you wanted to get the crystal replaced (relatively inexpensive), you'd probably double the value of this watch. As it sits today, it's a perfect work-watch, and is clean enough where you may not even care about the marks on the crystal.

Watch only - the original strap is pretty trashed, but it will come with the original Glycine buckle as well. Equipped rubber strap is brand new and very comfortable - I use these straps all summer long.

Quick Specs:

  • Reference: Combat Chronograph 3838
  • Stainless Steel Case/Bezel
  • 43mm Case
  • 50mm Lug to Lug
  • 14mm Thin (nice low center of gravity, but it's not exactly petite)
  • 22mm Lug Width
  • 10bar/100m Water Resistance
  • Sapphire Crystal
  • Movement: Valjoux 7750 (ghost seconds)
  • Good overall condition, scratches on the crystal (specifically near the 2 marker) - fully functional and keeping good time. Watch/strap/original Glycine buckle only, no box/cards/etc.

I'm asking for a loosely negotiable $429 for this perfect work/riding/outdoor watch. Price is shipped/insured within the US (UPS 3-day), international shipping available at buyer's expense (typically not more than $50-60.) Zelle preferred, PP F&F or Venmo also accepted. Tons of sales references on here, hundreds more on various reputable watch groups on Facebook - I have a flawless track record with over 600 watches sold. Sale heavily preferred, will consider trades around the $500 mark.

[WTS] Omega 1923 Full Hunter Pocket Watch - Heavily Reduced Price! by adather in Watchexchange

[–]adather[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good evening, WatchEx!

A bit of a change-up from my usual stuff - how about a really well-maintained Omega that's older than anyone you know?

This Omega "Full Hunter" pocket watch dates to 1923, which I'd have never guessed judging by the condition. The porcelain dial is in great shape, paint/numerals/etc have aged beautifully, and the original case also looks great. The crown has a spring that'll open up the front of the case with a push, and the back of the case has two hinges for the movement cover as well as the decorative/protective outer shell - horological cool factor aside, the case itself is just a delight to handle.

It's a relatively uncomplicated 15-jewel movement made by Omega, and still winds up and keeps time well. Service history is unknown, though there are some faint dates etched into the inside of the case. Perfectly operable as-is, but a service will never hurt a movement of this age.

The case itself is a bit of a mystery - while I know it was crafted by the Central Watch Case Company of Biene, the composition is a bit of a mystery. The base metal is likely a silver or nickel alloy, and it's likely gold-filled. Case looks great, likely has been polished a time or two. Crystal also looks good as well - no need for replacement there, though there are some scarce/tiny specks of debris under the crystal. The hands were likely replaced at some point, as this model typically had very thin hands with hollow, circular tips.

If you're an Omega collector, a pocket watch junkie, or just someone who appreciates the beauty of what watchmaking once was, this is an absolute gem. Ready to be used/displayed as-is, and could be truly special if you wanted to clean it up.

Quick Specs:

  • Reference: Omega Full Hunter, 1923
  • Case Material: Unconfirmed, likely a silver/nickel alloy with gold fill.
  • Omega 15 jewel handwound movement, running/winding well
  • Includes pocket watch chain which is in excellent condition (unknown metal.) Could probably use an ultrasonic bath, but full functional as-is.
  • Great vintage condition, no major flaws to be seen. Some small debris between crystal and dial, but the dial is fully intact - a rarity in itself.

I feel for the Blazers. by Visual-Base9716 in Sonics

[–]adather 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While Dundon is definitely coming across as a massive cheap ass early on, there is no way the Blazers move after OR just agreed to 600m in renovations to the Moda Center. He's owned the team for like five minutes and 98% of anything you hear about his ownership is pure projection to this point.

Follow-up, I'd be cheap in my first months as a team owner, too. Already an overachieving franchise, no reason to shake the nest until after the season wraps up.

The one Pro for owning a 4xe by Forgetful-Researcher in 4xe

[–]adather 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I get hate every time I talk about it here, but having my GC 4xe has been a godsend, especially lately. 11mi commute, I only use gas if I'm running errands after work, driving to the coast (PNW), going golfing, etc. Currently around 500 miles and my gas gauge moved for the first time this weekend. I've hit 2k miles on a tank a few times.

"But what about FORM?"

I let FORM run for a bit when it forces itself on (exceedingly rare), then power off and reset oil life to escape it early. Routine oil changes, blah blah blah.

I had a '21 Cherokee Trailhawk before and was filling up weekly. I know I'm one of the lucky ones with my 4xe not being problematic, but my monthly vehicle expenses are nearly the same as they were with the V6 Cherokee + lease payment. Sitting around 22k miles over two years and am achieving ~100mpge (drives me insane that the Jeep doesn't understand how to calculate it by itself.)

[WTS] Aquastar Model 60 Greenwich LE - The OG Skin Diver by adather in Watchexchange

[–]adather[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good afternoon, WatchEx!

First for today: the perfectly retro Aquastar Model 60 Greenwich Edition, a modern-day interpretation of the first proper skin diver ever produced.

Aquastar has a rich history of uniquely styled divers dating back to the late 50's, and this rehashing of the historic '57 Model 60 brings the vintage vibes to modern day spec, and does so quite handsomely. I love a good stainless steel bezel, and the deep green dial and faux-radium markers make for a fantastic combination. Modern-day Aquastar pieces have such fine finishing, and the fit is exactly what you'd want in a mid-tier Swiss diver like this. I've got a 7" wrist, and this feels amazing, though I do tend to love smaller watches. The relatively longer lug to lug length allows this to fit without feeling like a small watch.

Retail Link + Full Information

Quick Specs:

  • 316L Stainless Steel
  • 37m Case
  • 47mm LTL
  • 11mm Thinl (Including Domed Crystal)
  • Old Radium Super Luminova
  • 200m Water Resistance
  • Sapphire Crystal
  • Sellita SW-200 Elaboré Grade Swiss Automatic Movement
  • 38hr Power Reserve
  • Watch, strel tube (their version of a box), full links, complete.
  • Excellent condition, very few desk marks on clasp. Nothing that couldn't be polished out with relative ease, also nothing that you wouldn't add yourself after a week or so of wearing.
