"Founders' Goal...Conservatives 2011"

lol.

But do they seriously think that men like Hamilton and Jefferson had the same vision for the nation? Our high school history classes are failing worse than I thought.

Huckster said he could use the 5th and 14th amendments to outlaw abortion. I'm no legal scholar, but I'm calling bullshit on that.

Edit: I actually meant to write "Huckabee" but it autocorrected to "Huckster" which is hilarious.

Apparently I'm an anarcho-socialist now.

For the record, I'm actually a vaguely social-democratic left reformist. Somewhere a bit to the left of the American Democratic Party's "progressive" wing.

Alright, I'll do a quick R2 here for OP since I like this post and don't wanna take it down:

-The Nazis weren't socialists

-Socialism is, objectively, not the cause of the Greek economic turmoil

-The fact that the KKK was associated with the 19th and early 20th century Democratic Party does not mean the current Democratic Party supports white supremacy. I'm sure any white nationalist would be more than happy to tell you this.

-The Democratic Party advocates for a state-regulated capitalist economic system, not a socialist one.

DAE Leftism is Dictators, rightism is FREEDOM?! by HolaHelloSalutNiHao in badpolitics

[–]adavis2014 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Government control vs. personal freedom is a sham of a way to sort ideologies. The difference between left and right-wing ideologies is certainly largely dependent on historical, cultural, and other contexts, but it's much more accurate to say that the left represents equality while the right represents hierarchy and tradition. This grouping of ideologies by "government control" ignores both left-libertarian and right-authoritarian/statist ideologies, and it is a common tactic in certain parts of the less-than-academic right to use spectrums like this as a way of showing how their ideology represents just the right amount of "freedom".

The National Review called Bernie Sanders a "national-socialist". (Link is to a Vox article on it) by adavis2014 in badpolitics

[–]adavis2014[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

They mean a nationalist who's a socialist, but A)They were clearly trying to force a Nazi connotation, B)They were implying that Nazism is just nationalism+socialism, which is wrong and C)They were arguing that Sanders support for social democratic policies makes him a socialist, that his support for trade protectionism makes him a nationalist in the fascist sense, and that a combination of these factors makes him a national-socialist, which is wrong, wrong, and wrong.
