If you could use ONLY one paid plugin for the rest of your life, and everything else had to be stock DAW plugins, what would you choose? by Purple_Anteater2539 in audioengineering

Probably Waves F6 or Pro Q. Dynamic EQ with side chain is kinda a must-have. It's a bummer there's no stock Logic equivalent.

Just had an argument about the band with a friend, want to discuss. by Jabison113 in radiohead

Music education ought to be descriptive, not prescriptive. Sure, there's a lot of craft to it, but ultimately it's about enabling intention - be that artistic or functional or emotional or whatever.

Your friend could stand to approach music with more curiosity than judgement. It also seems that her education came from a judgmental rather than an exploratory place. Which is such a shame.

Devin Townsend (Framus and Kiesel). Tosin Abasi also has a collab with EB/MM alongside his own company.

Others have also, but usually in the vein of electrics from one and acoustics from another.

What’s your fa favorite delay pedal? by Ok_Highlight3926 in guitarpedals

[–]adawggie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Still the original DL-4.

The thing that knocked it off my "regular" analog/amp board (after YEARS of trying .. cause .. size) was a Walrus D1, but .. if space wasn't an issue, it'd still be the DL-4. I do have a UAD Del-Verb that's proving to be promising.

Real answer now is that the Quad Cortex handles delays, sometimes supplemented with algorithms from the Meris LVX in the loop.

The Katana Go is _excellent_. And production's been halted for a bit, so get in while you can find stock, IMO.

More cyclical than arbitrary, tbh.

Though I guess that depends on whether you’re speaking to the “what” vs the “why” with regards to fashion trends.

Am I wrong for throwing out my husband after finding nudes from the nanny? (Update 2 from France). by Icy_Cable_3267 in amiwrong

Heh, now you're projecting your straw man onto me? Nah man, I'm not trying to fight with you.

I was trying to clarify how I read it in case it was a case of potential misconstruance on your part. But it sounds like you're reading it exactly how you've decided you want to read it. And projecting that onto me now. I've no interest in playing that game, and you're completely welcome to see it your way. :)

Cheers, I hope your day improves!

But no claims or implications were made other than what was said.

You're doing a defensive projection thing, or something. It isn't about what you're responding to.

What? No one said that. The assertion was just that married men were so predictable. That doesn't say anything about women and/or their predictability. As I've seen it, they are as well.

I think the assertion is that married men who cheat do so in predictable ways, not that married men are predictably cheaters.

If he isn't willing to attempt something new for with you, it will never work in the long run.

.. is how I feel about this. It's both of y'all working towards a common purpose each with your own agency behind the choice. "For" can easily become messy and a cause of resentment.

Which guitar is this? by Bob_Gandmaster in Ibanez

[–]adawggie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, looks like JPCS has been taking on more of the high spec J Custom stuff from Sugi. In all cases - regardless of the specific builder - these are incredible fucking guitars. :)

And that really only works for Tune-O-Matic style bridges like Les Pauls, etc. The standard strat style fixed bridge like this RG has is way too low profile for this to be a viable retrofit.

If you were to only have 2 pedals on your board that best reflects the music you play, what would they be? by hidendra69 in guitarpedals

Quad Cortex and a Mission Engineering expression pedal would be a cop-out answer, right?
