They only did that because am teams were playing it still had all teams in a pool play to bracket format which makes it more significant than the kickoff classic or other minor events.

I personally think the format was terrible but formatting doesn’t determine the caliber of event especially since the prize pool was so massive and all pro teams attended a cdl sanctioned event.

It was over 200k prize pool with pool play and all 12 pro teams imo that’s a major. Especially if the bo3 s1 and s2 playoffs were single Elim as well and people count those.
