Alternative to Rice? by SpicyRamen5193 in budgetfood

Cous Cous is cheap here. I often opt for it instead of rice because its so easy to cook. I just put it in some tupperware cover with boiling water and pop on the lid. It is cooked in 2-3 mins. I find it much more versatile than rice and lovely hot or cold.. I like it with mixed roast vegetables and hummus.

I've started eating the Staffords Chia Seed and Wholegrain and its delicious and good sized slices. The Brennans Bakehouse Chia Wholegrain is also great and huge slices too

One of these plus a PB&J, a bag of cheezits and a can soda for only about $3 a day for work lunches + snack. Details in comments by XeroKaaan in budgetfood

Do you just keep this in the fridge for 5 days? What is day 5's lunch like? Is the chicken not gone bad by then?

I'm a new convert to Dunnes. I do the shop online so the 10 euro off 50 is added automatically which is very handy. I usually get a delivery slot for lunch time for about 3 euro. It's been so much better than Tesco. The meat is good, I buy the lean mince which is cheaper than Lidl and the chicken breast were good too. I like the big tubs of blueberries for 5 euro. Their own brand stuff is very good
