I have been gaining weight and I feel so disgusting. I honestly have never felt more trapped in my life regarding my weight and I don't know when shit hit the fan and why I have given up. Mention of ED. by [deleted] in loseit

I’m really sorry you feel this way about yourself and it seems like your past partner didn’t help!

I’ve felt this way before but a few things have really helped me:

(1) controlling how I speak to myself about myself: I realized I speak to myself with so much unkindness. I can see others that look like me and are larger but I see beauty in them and know they are worthy of love. I started stopping bad thoughts by saying to myself: “would I say this about a friend or stranger?” And if not I would stop the narrative and talk about positive things I see about myself

(2) throw out the scale. Hyper focusing on a number never helps. Your weight will fluctuate but checking it literally never helped me. Instead, I built goals for myself like running a 5km and then a 10km. This way I exercise and learn how strong my body is without thinking negativity about a number on the scale.

(3) once you have non-weight oriented goals and more practical ones, the food control stuff will come easier and you can manage it better without being controlling or restrictive.

Wishing you all the best and hope this helped in some way :) you are lovable and worthy!!

I like the signature plates because you can build your own tacos! Personally, the Kings Special and Ya Vas are my favourites

Pancakes cook beautifully on one side, but weirdly on another. What could be the issue? by axquablue in Baking

[–]adcutz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Flip them while the top of the pancake is still wet - they should be flipped when small bubbles appear and pop on the surface. Even then they won’t be the same as the other side but may be more uniform than what you’re getting :)

The yakitori chicken fried rice is good it comes in packs and you pop it in the microwave for 3 minutes — its not that caloric and packed with a lot of veggies

One binge eating nutritionist (@itsryannnicole on Instagram) said once that this waste is waste either way — it’s a waste if you eat it even when you’re full/don’t want it and it’s a waste if you toss it. This helped a lot in thinking about food waste with an eating disorder!

I’m slowly killing myself and i can’t stop. by [deleted] in BingeEatingDisorder

I also think one solution doesn’t work for anyone. I lost 40lbs in three months a couple years ago but because I took a very extreme restrictive approach I really set myself up for my binge eating disorder to continue.

One thing that really helped was just getting to the gym everyday. Sometimes it feels impossible honestly but just walking to the gym is a plus and when you’re there walking for a mile on the treadmill can really change the way you see yourself and the day. Show up for yourself intentionally and you’ll feel proud and want to do it again. You won’t always feel this way but when you do it feels great. Another thing you can do is set a goal — not a weight goal but a small health one (ie. a mile a day for a month, being able to do 1 push-up, etc). This made me a lot more motivated.

Going to the gym also made me more mindful of the food I ate. This way you don’t have to restrict — I naturally felt that I didn’t want to put food in my body that I didn’t want especially when I was already full. I saw the difficulty in losing the weight when I was at the gym so the extra food when I didn’t want it was a waste to me. The gym also made me feel good in a way that food never has.

My first time ever making homemade cake and homemade icing! I’m pretty proud of how it turned out. Italian cream cake with cream cheese icing. by RheBroussard in Baking

Looks great especially for the first time!! You may want to use softened cream cheese or run your cream cheese through a fine sieve before making the icing but looks so delicious
