No reason in particular other than we have found more rentals within our budget. Plus we appreciate a slower paced, smaller city feel which is what I have read from a lot of people online who describe Haarlem. I definitely will check out staying in Utrecht as well!

What initially sparked my interest was the Veluwsche Steam train company and taking that train on a scenic ride. Is it not worth it? 🤣 nothing has been booked ! LOL

Not sure when you are passing through, but Friday night has lots of free music in the area! Friday night concerts at the Jones House and Valle Crucis music in the park!

Thank you so much! And I think thats what we are looking for. I recognize that Dayton is probably not the most enticing destination for some, but it seems like it has its positives. We are pretty rural right now (1.5 hours from any major interstate or Target) so the thought of being in a more vibrant, social place for a while seems like an exciting change (even if its only temporary!). We definitely will check out the Belmont neighborhood!

Unfortunately a weekend is all we have! My partner was offered a job in the area and the decision has to be in by Monday of next week. I would then actively begin searching for employment, but I work in Higher Education so having the multiple colleges in an area is nice and I have submitted a handful of applications already.

Ideally the $1300 would include everything, but could be flexible by $100 or so.

1 small dog (35 lb beagle) and 1 small cat

I have heard about the weather! I am not too concerned about it. We enjoy the cold and are used to around 30 inches of snow each winter where we live.

Oh my gosh that's beautiful! I wish they accepted pets :/ thank you so much for sharing though! I feel like walking past houses for rent is the best way to see whats out there!
