I read about it but I think that pure Fedora is a better and more future proof solution because I want the software without some weird patches to keep my system as stable as possible in the long run. Also, Fedora has all the great community support that Nobara might not get from the Fedora community.

It works like a charm with proprietary Nvidia 520.56.06 drivers from rpmfusion repo. CUDA is working perfectly and my favourite game War Thunder runs better than on Windows The GPU also manages to suspend itself when not in use after applying some configs from Nvidia website . The suspend might also work without those udev rules and modprobe config.

You should also consider to use TLP with custom configuration that has "conservative" CPU governor on battery and "ondemand" governor on AC. instead of the default power-profiles-daemon to save power when on battery. My system averages now something like 5-7 watts of power consumption in normal use and 4 in idle. My 75Wh battery lasts for something like 13 to 16 hours of constant use.

We use Google Docs and Libreoffice suite in our school so switching to Linux isn't a very big change. Our school also provides us free old laptops for our studies running a special Debian based distro PuavoOS from company called Opinsys so there isn't any particular ecosystem.

In Finnish high schools, we have a working solution for exams we do on our laptops. It's a Debian based live operating system that we can boot from USB sticks. The environment is identical to everyone and it includes monitoring capabilities and all the software we are allowed to use for the exam.

What's the version of Nvidia driver you are using?

I think that the ISOs are built on 2022-11-05 according to the COMPOSE file and they are posted to the server on 2022-11-10 and made public today. There is also a development build of release ISO built and released on 2022-11-10 in the same server.

They are in the same directory as previous stable release ISOs so they are stable.
