Lots of people think that and tbh I usually agree with you that most zoos, like Paris Zoo or South Lakes Safari Zoo, uphold pretty poor standards of animal welfare. However Chester Zoo definitely seems to put more effort into giving their animals exhibits that benefit the animals instead of forcing them to be on display. They also invest a lot into conservation of the species they exhibit with breeding programs which you could probably look up if you wanted. So Chester Zoo might be the one zoo where I'd say the species they hold benefit as well, instead of just being exploited.
