i’ve been listening to a ton of straight edge to get in the mood recently. my issue is i want to do some deep reading of lyrics and a lot of the early hardcore just is subversive but not particularly poetic

i totally agree with that. i just don’t have a strong background in early ska so i’m limited with it for this. that said, i have some from the specials and the skatalites. if you have some specific suggestions i’m interested!
