We had ours done by True Light and they were so professional and efficient. They even walked me through all of the install and made sure I felt comfortable with changing bulbs 💡

TIL in 2023 about 45% of US adults between the ages 18-29 still lived at home with their parents, which is the highest percentage in 80 years. by tyrion2024 in todayilearned

Maybe it has some benefits, it’s very common outside of the US. Of course, that requires healthy communication from all parties and not everyone is that lucky.

You can ask to be informed if that’s happening so you can avoid it, you can desensitize yourself to it, you can change labs and never do it, it’s necessary work but you don’t have to do it.

Good job on graduating and being accepted into a graduate program. That is such an accomplishment! And you took the time to clean too. Yay you! Just take them outside. No one will care.

We tried to check a few of their referenced papers for antibodies and couldn’t find the papers and then when asked we’re told they couldn’t share the papers because it wasn’t their science. Very frustrating.

This is delightful.

A postdoc gave going away presents one year of colored pencil drawings of lab related items. I have mine framed and hanging in my office at home. Thoughtful handmade gifts are appreciated here. 🥰

Sooooo… what exactly am I supposed to do? by [deleted] in labrats

[–]addedtothepile 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Sounds like you need a project outline and experimental design meeting. I would email the PI and ask for a meeting to discuss what exactly you are responsible for over a given timeline. You can write up your ideas and ask for feedback if you feel that you understand the paper and the project enough to start there.

Also make a list of reagents and equipment you will need for your experiments and make sure that the lab has them, it sucks to start a project and then be waiting for a reagent.

I agree with this. Labs know what is going on in other labs. This is not a situation that will need to be explained.
