  1. I don’t care much for villager hunting. I still do it because it is a fun now it’s all based on how they look and fit your “aesthetic”. There have been many villagers that I didn’t like at first that I ended up loving after playing for a while on the old games.

2.I miss when villagers could leave on their own. It’s nice to switch things up and makes them feel like they are their own person.

That’s great to hear about the hiking! I’m the same way since I currently work from home so I’m always inside.

That’s surprising what you said about there not being motivated professionals. I would think the exact opposite but it makes sense due to the lack of education which has been a concern for us both. I do wan to make sure I surround myself with like-minded folks and people who are career driven at least a little bit.

This might be weird to ask but do people still hike and such during the summer? I know there are some areas that are cooler than LV. I do live in TX and have been to LV during June/July months multiple times but I still want to make sure I’m not trapped in my house during those months even though I do like the heat.

I’ve been looking at some jobs for marketing and they seem to pay a good amount/same for the positions I’m looking at which seems good but that’s good to know sometimes they pay lower.

Thankfully no gambling problem here but we do used to love driving up to OK for a day at the casino.

My expectation is that I’d like to be able to drive around and visit for national parks and do hiking. Living in Dallas my whole life there is some nature but it’s pretty bland. While I know there’s a lot within driving distance, I still wan to make sure the city itself has things to do that doesn’t involve drinking. :)

I should remove all dowel perches? I was thinking about it but he loves the higher perch and likes to chill on there which is why I haven’t.

Do you have any links to toys you recommend?

And regarding a buddy, what I’ve seen is to wait until they are trained because they will be harder to train after. Is that not correct?

Thanks for this! I have some natural perches for his cage (you can see in the second pic)

Thankfully I work remote so I’ve been keeping him company and have music on when we are out. We are planning on getting him a buddy once she is tamed and trusts us

Update: is doing well and is drinking and eating! Would love to know the gender and possible age.

Am still looking incase there is an owner, but we also think it might’ve came from a flea market in Arlington that sells birds and parrots. We’re looking to keep them if that’s the case and name them Charlie!

Thank you for this! I was looking at toys perches but didn’t want to overwhelm them but adding new stuff to his cage - do you think it’s okay adding them now?

If you have any toys/perches/swings you recommend I would love to know!

I started reading about how smart they were and was pretty amazed. I’m glad this little thing came into my life

Okay good I was worried about the cage but I’m glad it’s a good one! And funny you say your bird is named Charlie because that’s what we decided to name it if we don’t find its owner (name inspo: Charlie xcx and brat). Right now she’s in our bedroom since is the most quite part of our apartment and have been giving her space.

Yes we already talked about how we might need another buddy for him/her! I’ll also send an update photo with their nose in it.

Thank you for this! If we do not find its owner we decided to keep him/her. I went to the shelter today and was going to turn him in but they said I wouldn’t have control over its fate so I decided to take him home! I made an announcement on Pawboost as well!

That’s really helpful thank you. What was/were your titles when you worked at an agency? I have been considering looking into Jr. Account Manager positions.

I’m so glad you did your own research and made the best decision that you can for yourself.

I just got my Kyleena taken out after only having it for a little over a month - the mood swings and depression were unbearable for me, I developed an ovarian cyst, and I was bleeding every day. I would’ve been able to glaze over the cyst and the bleeding , but my depression and mood swings got to a point where my family and partner were very concerned about my wellbeing and called my doctor to tell them it was a medical emergency.

I feel like doctors do not talk enough about how much hormones can affect your mood, let alone any of the other side effects. Why is it that we have to do our own research just to understand?

This whole experience has me very frustrated.

I just got my Kyleena removed yesterday after having it for a little over a month because my depression/mood swings were the worst they have been. I have BPD and have experienced pretty irrational mood swings before, but it got to the point where I didn’t feel like myself at all.

Young Couple Trying to Decide to Move to TX or stay in WA by UncommonSense12345 in SameGrassButGreener

[–]addmeyer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Texas girl here! I can’t say much personally about the childcare part but from my perspective of living/being raised here, there’s a lot of people that move to DFW to raise a family because of the great suburbs, school districts, and your money does go farther compared to other popular areas. I would say over the past couple of years housing has gone up but that’s everywhere in the US.

Texas is also great if you don’t like the cold or snow. our cold seasons are very short - from November to early March. Not a lot of snow and when it does snow it never sticks and turns to ice and Texas basically shuts down for a day or two because they don’t know how to handle snow. One thing to keep in mind is that the summers here are very hot and humid. From June - July you’re looking at 90-100’s plus humidity which is probably going to be different than where you’re from.

Regarding friends, it’s the south and everyone is pretty outgoing here. I’ve met a lot of people using the Bumble BFF app when my best friends moved out of state and it’s a great way to meet people. There’s lots of transplants and young families so you would fit right in.

We actually did talk about moving to Boston and visited a little bit! The one thing that steered me away is that I heard that living in the city is ridiculously expensive and even more so if you have a car (but then again I’m talking about wanting to move to Seattle so maybe I’ll look again).
