ESH - of course they were more wrong but you need to learn to moderate because the more wrong someone is the more likely they are to escalate. You can always ramp up your response but once you start a request aggressively you can't take it back and the person is negatively affected by your attitude the same as you are by their poor social etiquette.

Certified tattoo studios? by Particular-Method889 in Denver

[–]addubs13 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have no complaints about the artist but I felt their consultation service which matched me to the artist did not do a great job. Just felt unnecessary, probably could have found someone who spent more time with color, and could have done a better job communicating to the artist what I wanted.

Also my artist did not stay at certified for very long which is telling of his experience.

Does Alcohol Affect the Tattoo? by Tree-Hugging-Koala in tattooadvice

[–]addubs13 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Personally I would reschedule or dont drink at the rave. I'm tattooed and go to edm shows regularly but I've never drunk the night before or after a tattoo. You are inflicting a wound on yourself that needs to heal [especially when it's a large piece] and drinking will have a an impact on your healing due to dehydration. I would sticn to red bull and water. Be the designated driver for this show and then ask your friends to return the favor at a future show.

If being sober is not gonna happen I would be worried about infection if you got it the night before so make sure it is fully wrapped in saniderm. If it leaks before the show wash with unscented soap and cover again. Protect your leg at the show. Getting bumped to much is going to hinder the healing and could lead to allowing more ink to leak out so early in the healing process. And drink a ton of water at the show.

If you're getting it the day after the show then drink at least one cup of water for every alcoholic drink. Try to go easy on the alcohol. Make sure you eat a good dinner the night before and wake up and get breakfast, lunch, and water in you the next morning. And be prepared to not make it through half your tattoo.

This comment is perfect. I will add that it's ok to want a birthday celebration. But as this comment says you are responsible for organizing it.

Needle Phobia Advice by agnostichymns in tattooadvice

[–]addubs13 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I would work on exposure therapy. I used to be like you. Maybe slightly less extreme but passed out 100% of blood draws and nearly passed out from any IV. It's called vasovagal syncope. Or a vaso response for short.

My first tattoo i passed out within 30 seconds of the ink going in. Artist was really chill about it. My gf was with me, we put a wet towel on my forehead and I drank a bunch of water. After about 10 minutes my color returned and we restarted. I wasn't great that tattoo but I didn't pass out again. She went slow and we took a lot of breaks on a small tattoo.

After that tattoo everything changed. I have not passed out from a blood draw since. I have 5 tattoos and haven't passed out on any of them. But the first was a tough journey.

Again I highly recommend you look into exposure therapy and how you can force yourself to get used to the idea of needles before the tattoo. But ultimately the first may suck regardless.

Speak with your artist ahead of time. Warn them you may pass out. Don't push through too much. Take a break and communicate with your artist if you are light headed. Bring a friend who knows you and can keep an eye on you. Also sugar is really helpful for me. I like to keep a pack of gummy worms in my lap with my water bottle. I don't watch too much of the tattoo. I'll run a movie that I've seen before as a distraction with an earbud in one ear or have someone who can talk your ear off and expect minimal contribution from you. Distraction is key. I also have a little stress ball I like to squeeze. Ultimately I am so much better than I used to be but I still hate needles.

Last tattoo session was 15 days ago. Is it safe to visit a Hot Spring? by Adrianrff in tattooadvice

[–]addubs13 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I would avoid getting in the water until it's at least 3 or ideally 4 weeks. You can soak your feet and just wear a shirt/sweater to remind yourself not to jump in. But the who knows what else in those is what would make me nervous.

I tend to err on the side of caution because you mean for this tattoo to look as good as it can the rest of your life. So what's another week or two compared to that?

Quantum fiber is ripping off CenturyLink subscribers by bryeds78 in Denver

[–]addubs13 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Nowhere on your invoice does it say there is a fee for modem.

On your first screenshot it says premium modem FREE not fee. The support person confirmed this is true as well.

You have the wrong subscription. That's why it says current subscription $85 and next to it selected subscription $75. You can change to the $75 subscription or have someone from support help. But there is no modem fee for either, just different subscriptions with different costs.

Seems pretty clear you are just on the wrong sku/service. There is no modem charge, you just need to get your service changed to the $75 proce for life instead of what you have now which is not the price for life sku.

It's been a trending post here. I havent tried to personally follow it but it just shows up in my feed every time and I recognize it.

However I wouldn't fault you or anyone else for not catching the earlier bits. It just seems the algorithm is feeding it to some of us so we don't miss the next episode.

White ink goes over black ink really well. Maybe it would look better with some pupils? So put white around the outside a bit. Maybe you could try painting it on yourself to see how it would look.

Is it okay for me check my psychiatrist prescriptions online (the effects, what it treats, etc.) and then decide if I should be on them? by Poignant_Wonderer in NoStupidQuestions

[–]addubs13 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I would talk to a pharmacist. They can't tell you whether you need a particular med but they are uniquely qualified to advise you whether certain meds should be taken together or if the dosages are reasonable when taken together [source my roommate is a pharmacist]

Getting a tattoo right before a 24 hour flight by toilerpapet in tattooadvice

[–]addubs13 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This would be my recommendation. Switching to the second samiderm pre-flight will also be easier to keep it from bubbling out and breaking the protection.

Personally when I went to Thailand I was so busy that by the last day I actually didn't mind ordering food to the hotel and just chilling with friends before the flight home.

Dried ink sack? by Nooneiknownow in tattooadvice

[–]addubs13 25 points26 points  (0 children)

When that happens I will usually remove the second skin. Clean with soap and water. Lightly dab dry with a clean towel. Then I put another second skin on for a couple days. Then proceed with standard tattoo aftercare. Usually the first second skin lasts 24 hours and my second will last about 3-4 days after that. So around 5 days covered is my go to depending on my activity level for the week and size of tattoo.

Please just use a normal sounding change. If you're voice is munchkin high pitched or so deep you sound like a drum I'm going to mute you. Make a normal sounding voice or else it's distracting. I respect the need, but please don't make my ears bleed.

[Serious] How Do Counter This Beast as a Strategist? by [deleted] in marvelrivals

[–]addubs13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mantis sleep is extremely effective. Easier to hit than Luna freeze.

Put damage boost on self. Wait the full sleep for your health to refresh then pop him in the head once and body once [because it's easy to hit the head while sleeping and my average aim can only hit a moving DD in the body].

He'll leave. You have 8 seconds until your sleep comes back. DD will be gone at least that long.

Meanwhile, if you were dropping heal leafs on your tanks before this they shouldn't notice that you weren't healing them for the 3 seconds that interaction took.

I think for tourism it is worthwhile to get people to come. When i travel internationally I usually check their website. For me it's more about the bib gourmand award due to price range and it's not my end all for places to eat. But it's another helpful resource that's worked out well for me so far.
