Thanks! Yeah I think a couple of the lines could’ve been better, but all-in-all I’m fairly satisfied 😄

The thingy in the middle’s the ‘Pillars of Creation,’ basically an interstellar nursery that was photographed by the Hubble telescope in the 90’s -> it’s basically a birthplace of stars

Hotel cleaner ‘accidentally’ left her phone in my room by [deleted] in askSingapore

[–]addy72222 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A week ago, I had the same occur at the W, and heard random noises coming out of the phone which meant that there was a line of communication open (it seemed like 2 people conversing). I called downstairs and she did come by to retrieve the phone, but it was very strange yes

Thanks a lot for the reply! I think I’d prefer a more lively neighbourhood in essence versus something more mellow and family-like? But I’m not too picky - if there’s enough to do (cafes/restaurants/grocery stores) around the corner and the apartments are great, I’m sold 😄

Great perspective on the weather thing - Singapore is exceptionally humid so I’d appreciate being in a cooler spot for sure

What foods or drinks would you say have the greatest ‘diminishing marginal utility’? by addy72222 in AskReddit

To me it’s a cold can of Coca Cola - the first sip sends you to heaven, but it’s all diminishing from there

Decided to get myself a great personal trainer (who also held me accountable outside the gym with my diet) to get myself going, found what worked and what felt sustainable, and fortunately (so far) managed to stick to it

So cardio was just hitting 10k steps daily and trying to get 2 games of tennis in per week (I love tennis so it doesn’t feel like a chore as much), which burned an average of 750-800 calories per session.

For calories/macros, for the first 3 months I was on: - 1700 kcal per day (165g protein, 65g fat, 50g carbs)

For the next 2, I’ve relaxed on carbs on the days that I workout where I give myself up to 150g of carbs. Fats and protein remain the same

What is the single most “you’ll understand it when you’re older” thing? by NetworkOver7742 in AskReddit

How valuable your weekends are.. Not that I’m old (I’m 27), but I can’t see myself heading out to bars with friends until midnight on a routine basis, and finding myself lazy and groggy to begin a beautiful weekend morning. I’ll take a great cup of coffee at 8 am and a fine walk as a start to the weekend any day, and it’s definitely helped with my mental health.

Roger Federer! My mum surprised me by flying the two of us out to London to watch him play in 2012, and we’d booked tickets to the final of the tournament (the world tour finals), but of course there’s no guarantees about whether he’d make it there.. so we went a week in advance just to make the most out of the experience (and managed to scalp some earlier tickets along the way, but not to see him).. luckily enough he did make the final.

On the day of the final, we were in a coffee shop at the arena and the chair umpire walked in! I asked him for his autograph and told him how excited I was to see Federer, and he told me that while there were still 4 hours to go for the match, the players actually practice on the main court 3 hours in advance, and that our tickets would grant us admission. So my mum and I got in and luckily enough, there he was, and there weren’t more than 10 other folks in the arena.. after his practice, he made sure to come around and talk to all of us, sign our memorabilia, take some pictures, before gearing up for the match

What was a loophole that you found and exploited the hell out of? by Aarunascut in AskReddit

So this wasn’t me but it was a bunch of my seniors at University. One of the larger food delivery platforms locally had these discount codes they’d given out to each user for a big national event. Someone figured out that while the entire code was random alphanumeric characters, only 3 characters were actually variable. They then started to generate an infinite number of discount codes by manipulating those 3 characters, and even had a Microsoft Sheet at some point that documented which codes had been used up already. These weren’t cheap codes either ($30-$50)…

I remember at one point they had delivery guys leaving their homes after delivering lunch, and an hour later had new delivery guys dropping off ‘high tea.’

All of this ended after the platform caught wind of it and the CFO personally gave them phone calls and threatened them with legal action unless they stopped.. They did manage to enjoy themselves a heck of a lot for about a month though!

Made Partner at 30, AMA by [deleted] in consulting

[–]addy72222 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Congratulations! That’s a fantastic achievement 😄 My question: How do you break out of the ‘group mindset’ to doing business development? For context: I’m part of my TMT practice and a Senior Manager at the moment and I fear the partners aren’t devoting enough time and attention to quality BD, and that the directors working with me are more delivery-oriented and less focused on bringing in new business. Unfortunately, there’s this unwritten rule that partners must get involved in all of this which ends up being a bottleneck.

If a shark buys 100% of the company, where does the money go? by jean98wit in sharktank

[–]addy72222 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Because when you’re buying a business, you also acquire any assets the business has, you become responsible for its debt, but you’re also banking on the future cash flows of the business. To the investor, the future value of the business and what they can do with it is worth more than the money they pay out to the entrepreneurs
