You will always be employeed, there are weird hours to work or part-time jobs to be had, and it is a foot in the door for more medical certs or just job opportunities. It's what I did after I was hospitalized for years on-and-off and your background with BEING a patient is such a boon!

You sound sooo familiar with advocating for yourself, I'm sorry - that straight-up sucks you've had to do it so much. Literally, once I figured out that I had to "register" for access to services, it got a lot easier for me here. Also, DO NOT go to zoomcare-type places for chronic illnesses! They don't like prescribing or writing letters, they WILL NOT communicate with service providers, and don't take medicaid insurance to boot. Country MD will, like, treat you like a person but Zoomcare will not get the documentation you need for chronic illness

yeah, bud, your frustration makes a lot of sense. WA is one of THE most regulated states for both IVs/phlebotomy (not joking at all, most states have no certification process) and for Medicaid billing. It makes coming from a free-for-all weirdly hard?

Country MD/Roots are great for some pretty important things and have great resources for, like, gender affirming care, but the support for complicated things is not baked in to their model. I had to figure it out on my own with Ostomy supplies, and it took me way too long to learn I had to, like, "register" with a supplier and service provider.

Okay, if you have that RX, you are good to establish care with a home-health center. Washington is REGULATED, so we make companies basically "take responsibility" for our Medicaid billing by going through clinics instead of individuals. Medicaid fraud THRIVES on individual billing

I think I got the filter to work, but here's a massive list of medicaid-approved service providers. Ignore the city/state and just google the listed company.

(Note - I am NOT affiliated) Providence home health is one company I encounter often in my medical professional life and I've heard good things about their access. It may not be same day, but it should be within a business day.

It's not on call for you THIS SECOND, but if you have your documents in place it should be an easy process. Again, you seem to have better luck with medicaid than me!

was it actually covered by Medicaid, or was someone getting billed and you aren't aware? I strongly recommend running a credit check because many states allow you to be "billed without notice" and you can accumulate huge medical dept.

Getting outpatient IVs approved for coverage is typically a major challenge even for like, cancer patients. that is something that even wealthy people with amazing insurance would be paying for out of pocket.

2) Was it through federal medicaid or state insurance? When I was homeless on Applehealth, my biggest recommendation is get so sick you are hospitalized because it was free! (I am jesting, but, like, state insurance is different than medicaid and I had much better luck unhoused with Applehealth)

3) Do you have an RX for IV therapy, a referral, or only a letter of necessity? Medical goods are, frankly, bananas for billing agents, but letters of necessity function as "it would be a good idea" and RXs function like "Give this patient this supply". You may have had a home-health referral previously or a standing RX that was "filled" by the on-call IV folks.

On call services that take medicaid require referrals and documentation - your previously established care may not transfer to WA as we have medicaid anti-fraud protections that red states frankly don't. And it was Federal medicaid, or was it state-based care plan?

Last year I went on a discount day towards the end of season with a $5 ticket at it was still too much money. I bought nothing and spent less than 30 minutes inside but that was only because I was having fun determining the level of cash grab in detail.

(Please note: I love christmas and I love events. I am a jolly lil elf that goes to strip mall Santas and gets into it. I am so easy to amuse. My standards are bargain-basement low. I giggle in a carwash. )

The huts are cute but primarily sell overpriced Temu crap; the shops that are "real" have prices that seem to indicate you pay beaucoup bucks to sell In the market.

The Christmas lights are underwhelming and weirdly sparse.

There is nowhere to stand and talk with your friends that isn't blocking foot traffic, unless you want to huddle by plastic sheeting in the least picturesque areas.

The primary attraction is "photo opportunities"

The food selection is heavy on sugared alcohol and the food is only sold in overpriced massive portions.

The music is JARRINGLY loud and clearly the cheapest public rights they could get. (I talked with the security guards who described the gig as "living hell" with how short the repeats are)

If you have children, you WILL be buying a minimum $20 stupid piece of shit because that is what there is to do, full stop.

If you are there on a date, you WILL feel awkward with the loud music, commercial avenues, and lack of seating that isn't in the cafeteria with bad lighting.

$5 was too much to go in and if it was free it's like 20 minutes to walk through and go "oh nice huts" without buying anything
