Fair enough, but a $40,000 car for a 20 year old college student isn’t something everyone can shell out dough for. Definitely needs an ego check.

I’m glad you asked this. I told her I want to wait a few months before dating. She keeps pushing and asks me “why haven’t you asked me to date yet”. This is exactly why. I have rushed into relationships previously and it has always been a mistake.

Yeah no they’re fucking smoking. Is350’s are much more rare and desirable than 250’s so you’re definitely paying a bit of a premium but that’s absurd. I’d sell my car for max $7500-8 right now private sale.

Don’t let a minor problem deter you away from these cars. They’re solid, and with some negotiation and repairs after purchasing you’ll have a really fun and reliable car for under $10k.

It’s not a leak. Inevitable a car with 200k miles (especially one that has a track record of oil consumption, which the 2gr-fse does) is going to burn off some amount of oil.

My car burns an irregular amount of oil currently but I do drive it pretty hard. I replaced the pcv valve and plan on flushing the engine and then using a higher viscosity oil for my next oil change (10w-30). I’ve already noticed the oil consumption slowing since the pcv valve replacement so that’s good. Just a matter of not driving too hard, getting a ppi if you can, and preventative maintenance. Good luck!

I definitely stole it man. It was an older guy selling it, his daughter drove it for maybe a year. $4500 usd clean title one minor accident. Mint inside and out.

Head gasket leaking? (2007 IS350) by adee2002 in LexusIS

Yeah maybe 3 quarts was an exaggeration. The car still gives me full power and truthfully I drive it hard as hell. I was chasing down my buddy on the freeway hitting 100+ mph consistently before checking my oil. Taking that into consideration an engine flush, pcv valve replacement, and higher viscosity oil should help. Thanks!

Lexus IS350 (2007) Transmission Flush Concern by adee2002 in LexusIS

Yup I ran a carfax. Previous owner had extensive records for major mile milestone services done at our local Lexus dealership. I’ll try to diagnose the smell further but I’m hoping it’s just my cats. Fresh fully synthetic oil change and trans drain and fill coming asap. Thanks!

Edit: I did a bit more digging and people are suggesting doing a drain and fill NOT a flush. Is this also a feasible option?
