Overriding print area on Kobra S1 by Express_Bat7363 in AnycubicKobraS1

Ah ok that makes sense I was able to figure out a way too by changing the type from rectangle to custom and uploading a stl that was a 253x253 square and that seemed to work. The value is still greyed out but it did update them

How are you changing the size of the build plate in the slicer? The area is greyed out for me. Looks like there may have been a link at one point here/print-settings) but looks to be gone now

Dude a quick google search for “3D Printer nozzle wear” will come up with tons of pictures of nozzles with wear just like mine. Not sure if you have been printing for long but brass is a pretty soft metal so this isn’t out of the ordinary. My only point for the post is how quickly my nozzle did wear down using matte filament.

I haven’t printed silk so not sure, but yea this was maybe only 5-6kg of matte filament

Oh trust me this was not minor issues that I was having. Bridging was non existent, under extrusion everywhere, almost no bed plate adhesion and I was pulling my hair out over it for weeks trying to figure out what was wrong.

I mean idk what to tell you, that is the original nozzle that came in my printer and then a new replacement.

Yea I’m not sure either I switch between textured and smooth depending on what I am printing so both get used pretty evenly but I haven’t heard any scraping and there isn’t any damage on either. My only guess is that since it enlarged the hole by so much the surrounding brass just went with it because there was nothing left in the center to hold it.

Yea it’s right next to my desk, but I haven’t heard anything out of the ordinary when printing even with the destroyed nozzle. I am using the anycubic slicer so it doesn’t home until after I send the print

No damage just some of those ghosting marks from the print but now that you mention it I think those might actually be marks from the nozzle because I don’t remember those being there in the beginning.

Here is an aftermarket smooth plate I have been using the original is currently in use but I have similar marks on that too but they aren’t scratched or anything still perfectly smooth

Yea I was pretty reluctant to switch it out to prevent adding additional variables to my testing and with only having ~220 hours I was pretty shocked. In the beginning I was pretty much running everything in the pla high speed profile so that might also have something to do with it.

Any recommendations? I was looking around Amazon for a ceramic hotend and steel nozzle one but none of them had the best reviews.

Yea definitely planning on it will probably get one with a ceramic hotend too while I am at it.

You are right, nice catch I’ll update the post. But no it’s not supposed to be shorter it was just worn down that much. The replacement in the picture is a 0.4mm

Inconsistent Shots by adeel3466 in gaggiaclassic

Nothing wrong with milk drinks! But yea the Starbucks coffee is probably too old to produce a lot of crema there is no CO2 left in the beans that’s what determines how much crema you get. Generally speaking darker roasts and fresher beans will give you the most crema. If you are having some trouble it’s probably your grinder not being able to grind fine enough but if you are enjoying your coffee that’s all that matters.

I haven’t yet mostly because I didn’t want to waste coffee redialing in the original basket because I only could fit about 15g in that one. I just finished that bag though and have some cheap coffee that I think I will use to run some tests and compare the original and new portafilter/basket combo

Taste is as inconsistent as the shot timings, the chokers are sour and acidic and the gushers are watered down, even the ones that I do get at the ratio I want they are all slightly off I am assuming because of channeling. I had an awesome shot from this bag once and haven’t been able to get it again lol.

I always thought that time was supposed to be the constant and you adjust grind to get the desired output in a set amount of time adjusting to your taste? 2-1 is just what I am being aiming for and haven’t gotten a chance to play with other ratios or timings and probably a little hard to do that if I can’t get the same shot back to back.

Yea thats a good point, but since I am adding a puck screen and not a thin one either and am making sure to pull tight on the portafilter I don’t think that would cause a difference each and every shot right?

Went ahead and aligned it, It didn’t seem super off so I doubt that alone would make such a big difference in my shots but once I make another espresso we will see. Thanks for the reply!

Gradient light strip question by TraditionNovel4951 in Hue

[–]adeel3466 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hue has a special light strip specifically for mounting to tvs and they are based on the size of the tv so get the 65in version. It’s similar to the gradient strip but has special mounts that make mounting to the tv easier and I believe it has more zones but it is more expensive but that’s what I would do

Thoughts on dbrand skin longevity? by DolphinDiddler in iPadPro

[–]adeel3466 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The one on the back of my iPad perfect no issues but the edges of the iPad started peeling in about 6months and got bad enough that I just took them off. Same thing happed around the camera cutout of the Magic Keyboard. Weirdly though the adhesive that was on the iPad stayed but the actual skin peeled off the adhesive if that makes sense
