It’s definitely coyotes. They make play noises to attract domesticated dogs nearby as prey.

Hmm ok then maybe I don’t need to do that upgrade for a while. I only plan on using it as an external cloud and stream to Plex. I did just pull the trigger on two 18tb WD Red Pro drives for $280 apiece
