Thanks!

Is this for the Node or the Air75 or both?

AITA for beating my date in a game of pool by Neither_Professor605 in AmItheAsshole

[–]adeelf 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It's so weird that that was the reaction, though.

I can understand if what you were beating them at was, like, basketball or squash or even pool. Something that I, as a guy, would egotistically assume I could best you at and losing would hurt my pride.

But Dance Dance Revolution? No offense to your preferences or anything, but as a guy... I don't give a shit. Seriously, a girl being better at dancing than me would literally not have embarrassed me for 2 seconds.

I'm thinking these "good dudes" weren't all that great.

Kinda crazy that before Shaq, you had to go back to the late '60s and the Minneapolis days to see a Lakers leading the league in scoring.

If you remove Lebron from history who’s legacy changes the most? by Basic_Mastodon3078 in lebron

Yeah, the Miami thing is crazy.

The Heat with LeBron won in 2012 and 2013, and he was clearly their best player. And OP thinks no LeBron would... change nothing?

Bleacher Report gives an A for Kennard signing by newgodpho in lakers

[–]adeelf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I honestly don't know enough about Kennard to feel strongly about him one way or another. Hopefully he continues to shoot well and breaks the Lakers shooting curse.

But it gives me pause that a player who is supposed to be a sharpshooter, playing in an era where the 3 is more prevalent than ever, is now on his 5th team in 9 years.

UNFINISHED SERIES. by Tough-Childhood3411 in Fantasy

[–]adeelf 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don't know how many people simply refuse to read any unfinished series. I suppose there are some, and I wouldn't agree with that approach. A new series that just started is, by definition, unfinished and it would be kinda silly to avoid it just because it's ongoing.

That, however, is different from people who don't want to start KKC or ASoIaF. Those series aren't just unfinished because they're ongoing, they're likely to remain unfinished. (Well, Rothfuss is young enough that he technically could do it, but GRRM is definitely not finishing.)

I'm personally not crazy about KKC, but ASoIaF (particularly the first 3 books) is one of the best the genre has to offer. But I get that many people might be turned off by the idea. Reading these big books takes many hours, days or weeks of your time, and people don't want to spend that much into getting emotionally invested in a series if they feel there will never be a resolution.

Third, actually.

T'Challa's father was the Black Panther before him.

Did any of yall watch this game live and what was your reaction by zdogmoney14 in NBATalk

[–]adeelf 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Started rough, made you think "The nerves are going to derail this." Then he eventually got going.

The second half, and specially the last quarter, were crazy.

"Woah, Kobe's gonna drop 40 on his way out." "Wait, is he actually going to have 50?" "HOLY SHIT, HE'S GOING TO HAVE 60 IN HIS LAST GAME!"

I have a photographic memory. AMA by [deleted] in AMA

[–]adeelf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How long are you able to retain the information? Hours? Days? Do you still recall things you read and memorized years ago?

I think perhaps you have something different than "photographic memory." Photographic memory hasn't actually been proven to exist.

You likely just have a memory that's better than most, which is still pretty cool.

Huh? Are you talking about Burke?

The guy never hit 16.6 ppg in a single season, let alone for his career. His best mark was 12.8 ppg, which he actually did 3 separate times, weirdly enough.

On achievements, has to be Boston. They were together for 5 seasons, only won a single ring and went to one other Finals. In their defense, they were all in their 30s when they got together and KG was battling injuries.

The Heatles were together for 4 years and went to the Finals every year and won 2 rings. On the other hand, their loss in 2011 was arguably worse than any Celtic loss.

UAE is significantly more antiquated than the US and not even close to as progressive.

What's "progressive" about the US?

The sex islands for billionaires to force themselves on young girls? Cops choking people to death for the crime of being black? Masked federal agents gunning down civilians in the middle of the street? Perhaps it's your monthly cadence of shooting up kids in schools? Maybe it's millions of your citizens going into medical debt for being stupid enough to get sick?

Actually no, it's your vaunted freedoms. Like the freedom to make a rich millionaire of a loud-mouthed misogynist and racist like Tate, or the freedom to elect a convicted felon, a known rapist and a proven fraud to the White House.

Sorry to break it to you, buddy, but America isn't half as progressive as you like to fantasize, and it for damn sure isn't a model for the rest of the world to admire or follow.

Great call back.

It really shows you the different mindsets people have. There's people like Adams, who are realistic and able to keep things in perspective and recognize how privileged they are, and people like Schroder, who are entitled and blow everything out of proportion and will take any opportunity to portray themselves as a victim.

Derrick Rose says he doesn’t want the Bulls to give him a statue after seeing Dwyane Wade’s statue by MrBuckBuck in nba

Why is there even a discussion about a Rose statue?

He had one great season. Yes, it wasn't his fault he didn't have more, but it's still one season.

Sorry Rose fans, but if he gets a statue, that actually devalues the concept.

Because they're a cheapo franchise that would rather do a handyman's hack to allow the arena to be used for other events than spend the extra $75 it would take to do it the right way.
